SOCIALIZE

Later that evening, Eden had finalized plans with Laura, Kahol and the rest of the group she was supposed to meet. Laura said that Kahol and herself would swing around Eden's within the hour and they decided they would show her around. Eden had something small to eat before getting ready for the night out. She pulled half of her short brown hair up into a ponytail before digging through her drawers to find something to wear. She pulled out black jeans and a grey knit roll neck before slipping into them. She had another twenty minutes to waste so she checked her social media and paced her room, cleaning up a little before she heard her phone buzz.

10:03PM  we're out front waiting for ya. get your bum out here before we freeze ours off!!

Eden giggled before locking the screen and running down stairs. Violet was sitting on the couch, clutching onto a mug, her eyes focused on the TV. Violet turned towards Eden and paused her movie.

"For a second I thought you fell down the stairs, elephant feet. Where are you headed off to?" She asked Eden with a smirk. Eden walked over to Violet as she stepped into her boots to give her mum a kiss on the head.

"I made friends and they want to hang out with me. Plus, thanks for being worried if I ruined this beautiful face you made." Eden said as she blinked really fast and smiled funny at her mum as a joke.

"Alright, kiddo. Be safe. I love you." Violet said as she resumed her movie as she laughed.

"Love you too." Eden said quickly as she finished getting her coat over her shoulders and stepping out of the door. As she walked down the path, she saw Laura and Kahol standing on the sidewalk, facing her home. Laura quickly walked over to her and Kahol smiled at Eden as he caught up with the pair. His hands were stuck in his pockets as Laura hooked her arm with Eden's.

"Off we go then." Laura cheered as she skipped slightly. They walked a couple of blocks as Laura laid out the plan for the night with the gang, "But first, we have to get everyone and we'll show you around town." One by one, Eden was introduced to the rest of the group. Grace or Gracie as the group called her was a petite girl who looked like a pixie with her big natural curly hair and slender frame. Her eyes were a dark brown and her skin was closely related to the colour of her eyes. Eden noticed her septum piercing a large lips coloured in a deep wine hue. Claire also known as "Buzz" was on the taller side. Kahol jokingly told Eden that she's called Buzz because she never stops talking before Buzz punched him in the arm.

"That's not true... I think." Buzz tried to defend herself but took a step back and agreed. Eden giggled finding her absent-mindedness quirky. She had big blue eyes that were slightly far apart and freckles spotting her cheeks. Her long brown hair surrounded her face and long neck before touching her shoulders. Finally they arrived at Finn's house. The only colour he was wearing was a navy blue bomber jacket, the rest of his clothes and shoes were black. He looked like he hadn't slept since 2005- the bags under his eyes weren't large but you could see the purple pigmentation showing through his pale skin. His eyes were a pretty green and he had his hair cut short and gelled into the perfect quiff.

"I hope they picked a good one." He joked loudly as he shuffled out of his house referring to Laura and Kahol's decision in adding Eden to the group. They sauntered off into the heart of downtown Holmes Chapel. Eden kept switching her focus from her shoes to who ever was talking, occasionally laughing as jokes were cracked around the group. She peered up at buildings, taking a general look around at the town. A couple of places that the group pointed out caught her attention. A small book shop, Al's Fish and Chips, a couple of pubs, and a record store that Eden made note of to go into one day. They all stepped into a coffee shop called "The Daily Grind" and shed their coats off and took a seat at one of the booths somehow cramming all six people in. They all focused on one of the acts for open mic night reading out poetry after ordering what they wanted. Whenever a line or phrase was said that really touched Eden, she would snap and found that other people felt slightly the same as she did. Eden felt a sense of comfort in that thought. Once the woman finished her self-written poem and the announcer took the stage, Eden took the time to peer out the window to see a few cars go by. Red. Silver. Black. The black vehicle seemed to have people her age crammed in it, since the back windows were down and Eden saw a hand holding onto the roof and some people inside.

"So how do you like Holmes Chapel so far, Eden?" Buzz asked which snapped Eden out of her own world.

"It's lovely." Eden smiled as she took a sip of her tea.

"Oh just wait until the parties..." Finn piped up from across the table with his eyebrows raised.

"Yeah! They get pretty wild." Laura added. After the night out and the group parted ways to head home, Eden dug through her bag to find her keys sitting in the very bottom. She walked up to the iron gate and opened it before stepping onto the front path that lead up to her home. She fumbled with the keys in the door, remembering that she had to pull back on the door knob then give her keys a twist to unlock it. Ridiculous.
