All I could see was Harry's face in my dream. His voice rang in my head and everything that happened bounced around in pictures behind my eyelids. Everytime I tried to blink him away he'd just show up even more. The faces he made; confused, intrigued, calm, irritated and angry. That stupid smirk that managed to somehow make me body tingle. I wanted to hate him, I really did. But I knew I was being hypocritical. I always told myself that I hated him and then I'd go off and be flustered by his mysterious aura. It's only been a couple months since I've moved and discovered him and no matter how much I told myself I hated him, he was intriguing.
My mind kept picturing him in a creamy sweater and a fedora that allowed his chocolate hair to lick up on his jaw from behind his ears. It (my mind) brought him closer to me and it felt as though I couldn't breathe. His hands rested on my hips and mine rested on his. His eyes searched mine as I looked up at him and he placed one of his large hands on my neck and let his thumb gently run across my cheekbone.
"Eden" I heard a whisper and I thought it was him because his lips moved with my name. But as he kept saying it, it sounded less of him and more of my mother.
My eyes shot open to see my mum sitting on the end of my bed with her hand on my calves as she yawned. She shook me a little before realizing I was awake.
"It's Christmas baby, come down stairs."She smiled tiredly as she patted where her hand was resting before rising slowly. She walked of my room with her house coat draping off her shoulders. I rubbed my eyes and looked over at my clock. 10:34AM. I smiled remembering that it was actually Christmas but it quickly faltered when I remembered the last bit of my dream. I dreamt about him. He was taking over my mind too quickly. I needed to put up guards in my head or else I wasn't going to last and I knew it.
I got up out of bed and scuffed my feet across the hall and down the stairs. My dad sat on the couch and before I knew it, I saw a flash go off and my eyes squinted.
"Morning kiddo." My dad laughed as I heard the sound of a picture being taken. I looked at him and watched as he shook a polaroid, the one he just took of me. I walked over to him and swiped the camera from him and snapped a photo of him.
"Morning dad." I laughed as I shook the polaroid of him. He was the type of guy who needed to capture something every moment. And in most cases, he'd want that moment in his hand as soon as possible. My mum gave him the polaroid camera as a gift for one of their anniversary's before I was born. All my baby photos were taken with that bad boy.
I took a seat on the floor by the Christmas tree, my house smelt like ginger bread cookies and my stomach growled. I looked under the tree and started grabbing at wrapped packages. I sorted the presents out; mum, dad and myself. I watched as my parents tore open their presents, taking pictures of them here and there.
"Okay, now your turn, kiddo." My dad smiled as my mum scooted closer to him. I handed the camera to my dad after I took a snap of them together. I opened the presents from my parents first and the others that family mailed over to us. When I got to the last two presents I grabbed the one with snow men on the packaging.
To our second daughter, merry Christmas Lucia
Love, Anne and Robin
I ripped the wrapping paper off and threw it into the pile that I made beside me. I pulled out the small box and opened it, revealing a necklace with an L hanging from the choker like chain. I smiled immediately and I took it out of the box fully.
"Do you want me to help you put it on Lucy?" I heard my mum ask and I nodded as I placed the thin gold chain around my neck. My mum came around behind my back and latched the necklace together and I readjusted it as she sat down.
"Beautiful, Lucy." She piped up and smiled. I smiled back at her as I grabbed the final present. The wrapping paper was creamy white and neat, a red sheer ribbon wrapped around the box vertically and horizontally. Hidden under the red bow was the small card.
Enjoy
There was no name but as I ripped open the paper I knew exactly who it was from. I pulled out the record that I was looking at back in the shop. But something fell out of the slip and I picked it up off the floor to see that it was the picture of me and Harry but printed out. I flipped it to the other side to see more writing.
You eyed it and so I bought it
