~Kellin's POV~
"Daniel Matthew Fuentes, get your ass up right now or I swear I will take a belt to it!" I yelled.Vic looked at me and smirked. "Does that punishment apply to me too?"
"Oh shut up, Victor! Dan, are you up yet?!"
"Yes Dad! How can I not be, what with all your screaming!" Dan yelled back.
I rolled my eyes. The kid's only 16 and he's already a pain in my ass. Vic says he gets his sass from me but I don't see it. Vic started making breakfast while Dan came down, dressed in a Muse band shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans.
"Morning Dad. Morning Papá. What's for breakfast?" He asked.
"Pancakes. Oh. Tío Mike told me one if his friends from the school says there's going to be a new student. So please be nice and make him feel welcome, alright?"
Dan sat down at our small table. "What's his or hers name?"
"His name is Phil Lester. His family just moved here from London."
"London?" I asked. "What brought them to San Diego?"
Vic shrugged and served us all. Dan immediately dug into them. "I don't know. But Dan, please make friends with him, okay?"
He nodded and finished his food. He mumbled he was going to go up and straighten his hair. He inherited Vic's wavy hair and constantly straightened it. I cleared the table and started to wash the dishes.
"Babe, have you noticed that Dan hasn't had a girlfriend yet?" Vic asked.
I set down the fork I was washing and turned around. "Yeah, I have, but maybe its nothing to worry about. I never had a girlfriend at his age."
He chuckled. "Yes but your gay. That's not a very good example."
"Would that be a bad thing if he was gay?"
"God, no Kells. I just want our son to be happy." He walked over and wrapped his arms around my waist. "What kind of father would I be if I said our son couldn't be gay. I'm not going to be like our parents."
I sighed. "Yeah, you're right." I looked at the clock. "Are you going to take him to school or am I?"
He removed his arms and grabbed the keys. "I'll take him. Besides, its your day to do the dishes." I groaned and he gave me a kiss, chuckling. He walked to the front door and yelled up to Dan to hurry up.
~Dan's POV~
Holy shit, they know. I mean, I'm not afraid to come out to them. But how do I say it? They're so comfortable with their sexuality and I feel awkward just staring at a cute guy. I put the finishing touches on my hair, grabbed my backpack and ran down the stairs. Something in Papá's face told me that I took too long. Oops. He sighed and walked out the door, closing the front door. Damn, what's up his ass. Better yet, what's not up his ass? I chuckled walking to the car and got in. Papá started the car and backed out the driveway and drove off."So, where am I supposed to meet, um, Phil at?"
"The front office. Please be nice to him, okay? He doesn't know anyone."
"Yes, Papá. But why me? The class president is supposed to show him around and that sure as hell ain't me."
"Watch your language, Daniel." I flinched. Papá only used my full first name when he was mad. "Your uncle's friend specifically asked for you." He pulled up to the school and parked. "Now suck it up and go meet Phil or you're grounded."
I groaned and got out, grabbing my backpack and slamming the door. Walking away, I smiled to myself. I wasn't mad about meeting Phil. A fresh start with someone I hadn't grown up with and maybe won't be freaked out that I'm gay. I walked straight to the office and opened the door. There he was and might I say, holy fuck. His long dark hair fell into his eyes perfectly and what little I could see of his eyes were sky blue, my favorite color. Well, besides black. He looked up and smiled shyly.
