Sam POV

Gabriel dragged me down the hallway, grinning and winking at people around. He seemed chilled out, cool, funny, and popular. Everything I wasn't. He glanced down at our shared schedule and said, "We have Mr. Holmes, the history teacher, for homeroom." I nodded and signed, I know him.

Gabriel grinned and said, "Really? Sweet!" We entered room 221 and saw it already had kids in it. I quickly unhooked my arm from Gabriel's and walked to the back of the room, expecting Gabriel to sit by the group of his friends that had waved him over.

Instead, to my surprise, he ended up falling into the chair right next to mine. I opened my book and began reading until I felt eyes on me. I looked up to see Gabriel staring right at me. I raised my eyebrows questioningly at him and he said, "It's the first day! We have ten minutes until school starts and I don't know squat about you. We're stuck together for two years so I want to know you."

I sighed and placed the book down. I signed, What do you want to know? Gabriel shrugged slightly and said, "I dunno. Do you have siblings? What are your parents like? Favorite color? Favorite movie, favorite book? What's your Hogwarts House?" I have a brother, I only live with my mom, I don't really know my dad, my favorite color is red, I like Marvel, The Outsiders, and I'm a Ravenclaw, I signed. Gabriel grinned. "See? I know more about you now!"

Your turn, I signed to him. Gabriel grinned wider. "Okay. I have four siblings, all adopted. My mom's kinda uptight, but my dads cool so that balances it. My favorite color is pink, Marvel is pretty fucking awesome, and I like the Harry Potter books. My House is Slytherin."

We ended up talking (well, not really on my side but you know what I mean) until the bell rang and 1st period started. Most kids had their homeroom as their first period so only one or two kids got up. The teacher walked in, with curly brown hair and high cheekbones. He turned towards the class and smiled slightly at me.

"Mr. Winchester," he said in a crisp British accent. "Nice to have you in my class again." I hid my face slightly as most of the class turned to stare at me. Mind your damn business, I signed, knowing that nobody would understand. Gabriel stifled laughter and put his feet up on his desk.

"So," Mr. Holmes said. "As it's the first day, I didn't feel like putting a lesson plan together. Just talk amongst yourselves." Gabriel grinned towards me. I sighed slightly. I guess I have an entire class period to get to know Gabriel.
