Sam POV

After Gabriel declared me his best friend, we were pretty much inseparable. He practically lived at my house now. On the days that he couldn't stay the night, his brother, Castiel, picked him up. Since this routine started, I noticed that things were a little off with Dean. So Gabriel and I decided to investigate.

Gabriel called Castiel to pick him up from my house. Dean was sitting in the living room. Mom was out at the store. Time to put the plan in motion. Gabriel and I sat at the top of the stairs, having a perfect view of the front door.

There was a knock and Dean got up to open the door. Castiel was standing in the doorway, with his usual oversized sweater and black jeans. "Hello, Dean," He said, smiling. "Oh, um, hi Cas," Dean replied, adjusting his flannel and hair. Gabriel looked over at me and mouthed, Cas? I shrugged.

"Sam and Gabriel are probably still upstairs," Dean said. "You can come in while I go get them." Cas walked in and Gabriel and I tiptoed back up to my room. Both of us laid down in my bed and tried to make it look like we had been sleeping. Gabriel curled into my chest slightly, making my shiver. Maybe it was part of the plan, but it still made me feel... Something.

We heard Dean outside of my door and I quickly threw an arm over Gabriel's body. We kept our eyes closed, Gabriel hiding his face in my chest to prevent himself from laughing and giving us away. Dean seemed to be standing there for a minute or so before we heard him walking down the stairs.

Almost immediately, we got up and walked quietly back to the stairs where we could hear Dean and Castiel talking from the living room. "They're sleeping, I didn't have the heart to wake 'em up," Dean said. "Oh," We heard Castiel's much quieter voice reply. "Well, maybe I should go-"

"No!" Dean said loudly. Gabriel and I looked at each other with puzzled expressions. Dean coughed awkwardly. "I mean- well it'll be easier if you're here when they wake up, so you can just wait if you want." Gabriel could hear the awkwardness in Dean's tone.

Gabriel gestured up to my room and I followed him up. He shut the door and whispered, "Do you know what this means?" I shook my head. Gabriel sighed and glanced towards the door before whispering, "Your brother has the hots for my brother!"

My eyes widened. Holy shit, I signed. How did I not notice it? The way that Dean blushed whenever Gabriel mentioned Castiel, the awkward behavior, the nervous adjusting? It seemed so obvious now. "We need to set them up," Gabriel whispered. "I know for a fact that Cas likes Dean. I overheard him telling his best friend, Hannah, that, and I quote, 'Gabriel's best friend has the cutest brother'."

How? I signed. "We give them a little bit of time to come to terms with their feelings," Gabriel said. "Then, when they've confessed to their favorite younger brothers that they like each other-" I giggled slightly at Gabriel's words. "We kindly lock them in a closet together so that they can make out. Then after they become boyfriends, we let them out!"

I nodded in approval at the plan. I like it, I signed. "Perfect. Now that we have a plan," Gabriel yawned. "I'm tired. Let's sleep for real this time." I nodded again and we laid down on my bed again almost in the exact position we used to trick Dean.

After Gabriel had fallen asleep, I heard Dean outside of the door again. I heard the door creak open and a mumbled, "Dammit," before falling asleep next to my best friend.
