Chapter 2

Matt drove me back to my house, dropped me off and left. I grabbed my phone from the kitchen table and looked at my messages. 3 from Jerome and 2 from Rebecca.

From: Jerome

How are you doing?

Is your ankle ok?

From: Jerome

Meet any girls?

From: Unknown Number

Hey it's Rebecca

From: Unknown Number

Are you okay?

I quickly texted Jerome back before sitting down and calling Rebecca.

"Hello?" she said.

"Hey it's Mitch," I say. I can see her smile in my mind. How pretty she looked with a smile.

"Hey," she said. "How's the ankle?"

"Better. What about your wrist?" I ask.

"It's feeling better. Matt's here," she said. I laugh.

"Oh is he now?" I say.

"Yeah. Him and Sadie are making out again. Gross, ha ha," she says.

"Yeah. What's your Skype?" I ask.

"Rebecca.johnson153," she says.

"Okay I'll add you," I say.

"Okay," she says before she hangs up. I put the phone on my leg, smiling at it. The doorbell rings. I snap my head to the door as someone yells "BAJAN!" I sigh and get up.

"What? Who is it?" I yell back.

"It's Rob! Let me in!" he yells. I crutch over to the door and open it. He stood there smiling until his saw my foot.

"Whoa dude what happened to your ankle?" he asked.

"Tripped over an extension chord and it wrapped around my ankle," I say, looking down at it and twisting it slightly.

"Ow bro, I'm sorry," he says, coming into my house.

"Meh, it's okay," I say as Rob sits down. He nods and looks out the window.

"Wanna play Minecraft later?" he asks. I nod and sit next to him. He stand up and walks to my kitchen, bringing back a bag of Doritos.

"Want some?" he says.

"Yes! It is my bag of Doritos," I say, taking out a chip from the bag. My laptop starts to ring as I chew my chip slowly. Rob grabs it and opens it up.

"Whose Rebecca?" he asks. I blush and take away my laptop.

"Nobody," I say, looking at the screen. She wanted to Skype. Shit.

"Nobody as in somebody?" Rob asks, trying to peek at my screen.

"Yes Rob. She's somebody," I say, accepting the request to Skype. She popped up on the screen, smiling brightly.

"Hey Mitch!" she said, waving.

"Hi Rebecca," I say, smiling with a slight wave.

"MITCH AND REBECCA SITTING IN A TREE! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Rob sings very loud and annoyingly.

"ROB SHUT UP!" I yell. He doubles over in laughter. I roll my eyes and look back to Rebecca, who was staring at her keyboard.

"Hey what's wrong?" I ask. She rolls down her sleeve quickly.
