Chapter 18
I read the two words over and over.
It's Jason.
She left me for Jason. How could she? I slammed my hands on my desk over and over until my hands started to bleed. How could she do this to me? I look down at my arms, looking at the scabs that had started to form.
I silently scream to myself. I'm sitting at the edge of my bed, looking over my arm, watching the scars melt into my skin as if they belonged.
"Mitch?" I hear a familiar voice call upstairs. Mat.
I quickly run upstairs, seeing Mat take off his shoes and picking up Reegan. I walk up to him and hug him, welcoming him home. He thanks me and sets Reegan down. He walks over to the couch and sits down.
"God I am tired," he said, rubbing his forehead. I laugh.
"I understand that. You were just in the hospital on life support for about two weeks," I say. Mat laughs slightly. Reegan walks up to him with a bloody needle in her hand.
"I found this," she said, handing it to Mat. He takes it, examining it before looking at me.
"Mitch you didn't," he said. I nodded, looking at my feet. Reegan's little feet touched mine.
"I'm sorry Mitch," she said. I nod and hug her.
"I'm doing this for your own good," she whispers. I feel a sharp pain in my chest. I let her go and look down at my body. A small needle was stuck on the left side of my chest. I take it out before passing out.
*******
I wake up in the same room I was in before. It turns out, when Reegan stabbed me, she was millimeters away from my heart. I see out of the corner of my eye the familiar fluffy hair covered from a hat.
Jason.
I grit my teeth together.
"You," I say sternly with anger. He stands up and walks towards me. He eyes filled with sorrow.
"How could you do this to me?" I say, sitting up straighter.
"It wasn't my choice. We've been into each other since she went into your Skype accidentally and called me by accident. I asked her out and she said yes, but I had no idea she was with you until you were talking about her over the Skype call," he said. My eyes widened. She was cheating on me.
"Why would she do this?" I ask.
"She didn't tell me she was with you," he said. I grab my head as it starts pounding.
"I can't take this," I say, putting pressure on my head.
I can't do it. I just can't.
