Chapter 8

I woke up to Rebecca laying on my chest. I propped myself a little on my elbows and looked around the room.

Reegan was sleeping on Matt's back. Matt was sleeping on my kitchen table. Quentin was asleep on the couch opposite me. Rob was sleeping on the couch beside me. Jerome was sleeping on the coffee table.

We were a real group I'll tell you. Rebecca started walking up.

"Good morning," I say. She smiles and hugs me.

"Morning, where's Reegan?" she asks.

"Sleeping on Mat's back on the kitchen table," I say. Rebecca laughs quietly.

"Figures," she says, starting to get up. I grab her wrist quickly. She turns back to me as I sit up fully and lean in to kiss her. She gladly accepts my offer and kisses me back. She pushes me back down onto the ground, pinning me down with her kneeling on my thighs.

I disconnect our lips so I could help her get up from the floor. I take her hand and lead her down the hall. I pin her against the wall before kissing her again. Her hands trail down my bare chest. I disconnect our lips.

"We need to go in here," I whisper, leading her to my room. I quietly closed the door and turn back to Rebecca. She pushes me against the door and starts kissing me again. I push myself off the door, never disconnecting our lips once.

She lays down on my bed, pulling me down with her. I pull on the hem of her shirt. She sits us both up and pulls it off. She starts kissing me again more forcefully, biting my lip slightly.

"Uncle Mitch?" Reegan yells. I disconnect our lips as she knocks on the door. I look at Rebecca. She giggles slightly.

"We finish later," I whisper. She smiles and nods. I hand her her shirt and she pulls it on. I stand up and walk over to the door as Reegan knocks again.

I open the door and she was covered in bubbles.

"What did you do?" I ask her, picking her up. She giggles.

"Daddy wanted to give me a bath but he put too much bubble in the water," she says. I smile.

"Dad isn't too smart is he?" I ask. She laugh as she says no. I walk out of the bedroom, holding my soapy niece.

"Mathew?" I call.

"Yes Mitchell?" Mat calls back.

"Why is your daughter covered in soap?" I ask. He laughs.

"I fail at giving baths," he said, emerging from the bathroom. I laugh and hand him his daughter. He takes her quickly.

"Need help?" I ask. He nods. I walk in to the bathroom and look at my bathtub. I slap my forehead. Mat put too much soap in and he filled the water up to the top.

"Mat you're stupid," I say, draining some the water from the tub. Reegan laughs and pokes Mat. Mat smiles.

"You really like to poke people don't you?" he asks. She nods and claps. I smile and fix the mess Mat made.

"Done," I say. Mat puts Reegan into the tub and I walk out. I walk back to my room to find Rebecca lying on her back. Glistening tears fell from her face.

"Hey are you okay?" I ask, lying next to her. She turns over to me.

"Sadie's gone," she cries quietly. I wrap my arms around her. She cuddles herself into my chest. I take her arm and look at her scars. Rebecca looks away from them. I bring her arm to my face and kiss her scars, every last one.

I tilted her chin up to face me, carefully dropping her arm onto my hip.

"You're beautiful. No matter how many scars you put on your skin you will still be beautiful. And I love you for you. Not for the scars, or your physical features. Those just came as a bonus," I say. She smiles and kisses me.

I entwine our finger together and pull away. I stand up, helping her up and walking out of the room, our fingers still entwined together. Jerome looks over at us.

"Ah did you slurp some lady Bacca?" Jerome asks, wiggling his eyebrows. Rebecca laughs.

"No Jerome. Not yet. We're saving it for when the little one is asleep," I say, holding my hand up to my mouth. Rebecca slaps my arm playfully. Ron and Quentin laugh.

"What did I miss?" Mat asks, walking out of the bathroom with Reegan in a towel. Jerome shakes his head.

"Tell you later," he said. Mat nods and walks with Reegan to get her clothes.

I love my family,
