Chapter 27
"I though you went to jail," I grunt through gritted teeth. The kidnapper smiled an ugly smile. I turn around to look at Dustin before secretly giving him my phone to call police.
He runs out of the room. The man spins around and glares at the door.
"Dammit! I let him get away again," he grumbles. Reegan and Graham were still holding onto one another as the man starts to approach them step by step. I grab the mans shoulder before he could touch my niece and nephew.
"You won't touch them," I yell, throwing him against a wall and stabbing his shoulder with a surgical knife that was sitting on the table. Bad placing at the right time I'd say.
The man screamed out in agony, grabbing the knife and ripping it out of his shoulder, his skin tearing and grinding together. A girl about Dustin's age runs in and rips him off the wall, pushes him against the other wall on his face and hand cuffs his hands behind his back.
"I finally got him," she mumbles, pushing him to the ground and lifting up the back of his shirt and taking the knife from me. She digs it into his skin, forming a small letter D on the back. The kidnapper screams in agony.
"Who are you?" I ask her. She turns with a smile.
"Dusk Slivers. I was kidnapped by this demon when I was about 5. I escaped but found my family to be dead. So I went to an orphanage for a little while, they treated me like he did and I left. I swore revenge as soon as I got out," she says, tightening her grip on his hands. The kidnapper groans.
"How old are you?" I ask as Graham and Reegan reside from their hugging to holding each others hands.
"15. I'm okay living on my own though," she said, pushing some of her cherry red hair behind her ear. She pushed up her hipster glasses as she picked up the man and threw him out the window. He died to say the least. She placed her hands on her hips after clapping them together a few times.
"There. All my work is done. Catch you later," she said. I grabbed her wrist.
"You're coming home with me. My brother needs a friend to live with and you are going to be it. You're an orphan so you need a place to live," I say. She smirks.
"Alright, alright. But don't you think it's weird that you're letting a stranger in your home?" Dusk asks, crossing her arms with the same stupid smirk plastered on her face.
"I've done it too much to care," I mumble, looking at my feet, thinking of Sam and Rebecca.
"Alright. I guess I'll go with you ON one condition," she says.
"What is it?" I ask.
"I want to be in a video with you," she said, pursing her lips and placing her hands on her torso.
"How do you know who I am if you're homeless?" I ask. She laughs.
"You look like a YouTuber I used to watch so obviously I took a wild guess and I was right. Hi Mitch," she said, smiling a lopsided smile. I was taken aback for a moment. Crazy she knows me.
"Alright... Let's get you down to the lobby. Graham stay here with Reegan until I get back," I state. Graham nods and Reegan smiles.
I walk Dusk downstairs with me and meet the other guys. Dustin was being asked questions about the man, answering a lot of them. Her eyes steer towards Dustin, looking him up and down. I slap her arm.
"My brother," I say sternly. Her eyes fall.
"Okay," she said, walking over to Rob and sitting on him. He looks at me horrified and I mouthed 'don't worry about it'. He nods hesitantly. Dusk leans back into Rob's chest. Rob looks at me with fear in his eyes. I could kinda tell. She had snakebite piercings and an eyebrow piercing. A tattoo ringed around her wrist, a quote from a movie I've never heard of.
Her ears were pierced all the way up to the end of her cartilage. To say the least, she scared a lot of my friends.
Dustin walks over to me.
"Who is she?" he asks, pointing to Dusk, which I could clearly see he knew her.
"Her name is Dusk. She going to come live with us." I say. He smiles wide and nods.
"Sweet," he whispers. He turns to me.
"Hey, can my friend Tris and his girlfriend Lauren come over?" he asks. I shrug.
"I don't see why not. But we need to run Ty, Adam, Jason, and Graham to the airport first okay?" I say. Dustin nods and pats me on the back before walking over to Dusk. She smiles wide before hugging him. Rob looks at me again with a what the hell expression. I laugh before telling Adam Graham was still with Reegs.
A few hours later, Adam, Ty, Graham and Jason were at the airport, going home. Kyle and Tyler were leaving in about 10 minutes.
"Great seeing you again Mitch," Tyler says, bro hugging me before him and Kyle leave. Dustin waves good bye as another car comes into the driveway. A boy, about 6'4" comes out along with a girl about 5'7". My suspicion it was Tris and Lauren.
"Hey guys," Dustin said, stepping down to meet them.
"Hey Dusty!" Lauren said, hugging him then turning to Dusk.
"Oh my God!" she whispers, smiling before attacking her in a hug. I stand in the doorway as the four talk a while. Dustin turns to me.
"This is my older brother, Mitch. Mitch this is Tris and Lauren," he said, introducing me to the pair. Tris's mouth drops.
"You're-"
"The Bajan Canadian!" Lauren finishes for him. Tris and Dustin laugh before Tris kisses her cheek. I had to admit Lauren was pretty.
Dark brown eyes, dark brown shoulder length hair, tanned skin, and a not to skinny not to fat body. She was pretty.
Tris I had to say, was pretty good looking. He had sandy blonde hair that was longer in the front, shorter in the back, brown eyes like Lauren's and not as tan as her but fairly there. I heard my Skype ring from downstairs from the open door. I run quickly downstairs.
Rebecca
I answer for the hell of it.
"What?" I snap at the screen when she showed up. She looked at me, a blank expression written on her face. She looked down.
"It's a boy," she whispered, "and a girl."
"What are you implying?" I snap back at her.
"Twins," she whispered.
Oh God no.
"That's exciting I guess..." I say, getting out of my snappy mood.
"Jason and I were thinking of names... we thought of Robert Mathew Mitchell for the boy and Sadie Reegan Samantha for the girl," she said lifting her head. I nod.
"Good idea," I say. She smiles.
"That's all I needed to hear," she said before hanging up. I sigh.
She's going to be a good mom...
But a bad role model...
Tris, Dusk, Lauren and Dustin walk downstairs, laughing and making jokes until Dustin saw me, my face buried in my hands.
"Yo, Mitch, what's wrong?" he asks.
"Rebecca... she's having twins..." I whisper. Dustin's eyes widen.
"Whose Rebecca?" Dusk asks.
"Mitch's ex," Lauren said. I look at her.
"It was on Twitter... you tweeted about it remember?" she said. I nodded. I guess I did.
"Yeah... yeah I guess I did didn't I?" I say. She nods.
"You also tweeted about Sadie, Mat's hospital visit and Reegan... you're absent mindedly tweeting things..." Tris says. I nod.
"Can Tris and Lauren stay over?" Dusk and Dustin ask.
"I don't care. upstairs only," I say. They all nod and run upstairs.
Whoo.... more mouths to feed for a night...
At least... that's what I thought...
