Chapter Twenty-Two: Family Is Forever

Chapter 22

I wake up in my bed, looking around my room.

Kyle and Sam were on the floor, cuddling. Mat and Reegan were at the foot of my bed, she sleeping on his back. Rob was sleeping standing up with a lampshade on his head with his arms crossed in the corner. Jason was laying on his feet.

Dustin and Graham were sleeping in my gaming chair, Graham curled up on Dustin's chest. Adam was sleeping next to me, Ty and Tyler draped over his legs. I got up slowly, trying not to wake up the three guys sleeping by me. I run to my closet and grab my megaphone, turning it on. I walk up to Rob, putting the megaphone by his ear.

"Good morning Robert," I say. Rob woke up with a jolt, yelling.

"Oh my God Mitch, not cool at all," he said, taking the megaphone and shutting it off. I laugh before going over to Mat and Reegan and shaking Mat softly.

"Mat wake up it's noon," I say. He groans.

"Take Reegan off my back and I'll get up," he says. I nod and take Reegan off his back, holding her sleeping form. Mat gets up with a grunt.

"Okay I'm up, what do we need to do that's so important?" he asks.

"It's Reegan's birthday isn't it?" I ask, pointing to Reegan. Mat grabs his hair.

"Dammit I forgot!" he yells quietly. I nod, with a "no shit" expression. He runs upstairs, grabbing spare clothes. I set Reegan down by Adam and walk with Rob upstairs. Mat was in a rush trying to get his shoes on.

"Calm down, Mat. We'll get the cake and you get five presents, one from me, one from Rob, one from Kyle and Tyler, one from Adam and Ty, and one from you. We will get that cake promise," I say. Mat nods and runs to his car.

"Are we really getting a cake?" Rob asks.

"No, YOU are getting the cake. I am going to set up for the party," I say, running downstairs before Rob could protest. I run back upstairs with Reegan in my hands before Rob leaves.

"Take her with. She won't suspect a thing," I say. Rob nods and takes Reegan before running out the door. I run downstairs, taking Graham away from Dustin. He slowly wakes up and looks at me confused.

"Want to help me wake up Dustin and Sam?" I ask him. He nods and I set him down. He runs up to Sam and Kyle and jumps on them. Sam and Kyle both groan.

"WAKE UP!" Graham yells. Sam sits up slowly.

"Graham! Who told you to wake us up?" Sam scolds.

"Mitch did!" he yells, pointing to me. Kyle sits up.

"Mitch is mean," Kyle said, pointing at me. I laugh and pick up Graham.

"Wake up Dustin now, Grahammy," I say, setting him on Dustin. Graham squishes Dustin's cheeks with his hands.

"Dusty-poo wake up!" he yells into his ear. Dustin jolts just a bit before opening his eyes and making a surprised noise. I laugh and pick up Graham.

"Wake up Jason," I say, setting Graham on Jason's chest.

"HEY SPACEMAN!" Graham yells. Jason jolts up before sighing and laying back down, then jolting back up once he realized it was Graham.

"Wake up those three now," I say. I set Graham on Adam's chest. Graham bent down and poked Adam's nose. Adam opens his eyes.

"GAH!" he yells, jumping up a bit. Graham looks at Ty and Tyler, poking both their noses. Tyler laughs but Ty wakes up. Ty gives Graham a confused look. Graham holds his finger up to his mouth before crawling over Ty and onto Adam's foot. He puts his face close to Tyler's ear.

"HEY BROTATO!" he yells. Tyler screams and jolts up. Everyone laughs at Graham and he smiles proudly. Tyler puts his hand on his chest, breathing heavily.

"Oh my God, that scared the bejeebs out of me!" he said, using the Janet voice. Dustin and I crack up laughing. Everyone smiles. I clap my hands together.

"Okay, Reegan's birthday is today. Mat is going out to buy presents and Rob and her are getting a cake. So we have about 2 hours before both of them get back. Let's get cleaning and decorate!" I say, fist pumping. Everyone else fist pumps, even Graham.

"WHOO HOO!" Graham yells. Adam and Ty crack up laughing as he starts jumping on Tyler. Sam picks up Graham and sets him on the floor.

"Sorry, Tyler," she says. Tyler laughs.

"I'm alright," he says, getting up.

"Okay everyone let's go!" I say, motioning for everyone to run up the stairs. Adam and Ty go first, followed by Tyler and Graham, followed by Dustin, Jason and Kyle. Sam and I stand there in the basement.

"Do you know if Kyle or Tyler has a girlfriend?" she asks, cocking her head to one side.

"I think Kyle does and Tyler doesn't," I say. She smiles.

"Good. Because I think Tyler has a crush on me," she says. I nudge her.

"Make a move. Go for it! That's what I did with my last girlfriend," I say. She gives me a look.

"Last girlfriend? Don't you have one?" she asks. I shake my head, looking at my feet.

"I'm sorry," she says, patting my shoulder before walking upstairs. I stand there in the basement, thinking it over.

I shake my head.

She isn't worth my suffering.

I have other things to take care of.
