Chapter 19

It's been 3 days since John Luke and I had our date, it was amazing he was so kind, open and a great listener, but after he left Sadie was not stop texting me with a million questions about "broody", I was able to fend her off with simple answers but John Luke kept texting me about how when he got home Sadie was asking, who, when, and where he had been, I just laughed and told him to keep it a secret from her, I was still scared of what she might say , think or even do to me, she is my best friend I couldn't stand the thought of loosing her, so today her and I were finally going to meet up at the country club for a game of tennis and lunch, I crawled out of bed and made my way towards the bathroom just as the phone range, I groaned and made my way towards the phone

"Hello" I said sitting down at the window and not even reading the ID

"Hey sweet heart how are things" my mum asked

"Good, how's New York" I asked watching the kids across the street bike on their drive way

"It's amazing here, but busy and lots of people, you know how your father hates all these people" she said laughing

"Haha we sure do" I said laughing

"That's ok he's leaving on tour with Hunter in a couple days so it will just be me before I head off to Milan for fashion week" my mum said

" what do you mean dads going on tour and your going to Milan? That wasn't the plan" I asked shocked

"Well I thought I told you? I got asked to show case my fall line and your father has to help on this tour, I'll only be gone until August 18th and your father will be gone until October 16th" she said at once

"Um... Okay... Well I got to go, love you" I said hanging up before she could answer me, I was angry my parents have never left me for this long, don't get me wrong I like having some me time but I miss my parents, I used to my dad being gone on tour for months on end and mother going away for a couple weeks at a time, but this wasn't fair cause I had no warning, I stood in front of the window looking out at the kids before changing into my running shorts, sports bra, sports tank, and running shoes, I pulled my hair back in a high pony threw a headband in, brushed my teeth, grabbed my iPhone and earbuds off the desk and made my way down the stairs and out the door and started running.

I plugged my earbuds in and mad emu way down the street toward Sadie's, when ever I got angry or frustrated I went running, a million things ran through my head as I went down the street and around the corner, I thought about how angry I was at my parents, how angry I was for liking my best friends brother, how alone I felt, when I finally made my way up the drive way and to the front door, I rang the door bell and waited for someone to answer, I pulled my ear buds out

"Coming" I heard someone yell before coming and opening the door

"Hey Katelyn, so good to see you" Mr. R said opening the door

"Ya you too, is Sadie home" I asked breathing heavily

"Ya she's still her pjs, come in" he said motioning me in

"Thanks" I said stepping in

"Sadie, Katelyn's here" he said walking into the kitchen I followed after him, I heard foot steps running and making there way down the stairs

"Hey you weren't supposed to be here for another 2 hours" she said her hair was in a messy bun, and she was wearing her pink camo pjs

"Change of plans we're going running, get changed let's go" I said sitting down at the counter

"Ok I'll be right back" She said running up stairs and to her room to get changed

"So how was yours and John Luke's date" Mr. R asked leaning against the counter

"Um... Good... We just stayed in at my place, I made dinner and we watched duck dynasty" I said feeling really awkward

"That's good" he said nodding his head, we sat in silence until Sadie came back

"Ok let's go" she said running down the stairs, she was wearing a sports tank, lulu lemon shorts, her hair was in a bun and a head band pushing the lose ends back

"Okay" I said leaving my phone on the counter and following her out of the kitchen, out the front door an down the drive way, we ran in silence for a couple minutes before she spoke

"Something bothering you" she asked

"Ya how'd you know" I said laughing

"You wanted to go running" she said laughing

"Hahaha your right" I laughed

"So what's the matter" she asked

"My parents, my dads going on tour with Hunter until October while my mum is going to Milan on the 29th until the 18th like I just got blind sided, they didn't tell me they were doing this, I am so flustered" I said my tone getting louder

"Oh my that must suck a lot" Sadie said

"You don't even you know, your so lucky having your parents stay in once place, my parents are every where, don't get me wrong it's nice having the house to my self but I miss my family, I see my dad maybe for 5 months in the entire year and my mum I maybe see for about 8 1/2 months, I miss when I was younger they were always home with me but now that I am older they're always gone" I said getting stressed and starting to cry, I stopped running and started crying, tears were pouring down my face in hot steamy puddles

"Aww Katelyn, it's ok I still here and I will always be here, don't you worry" Sadie said giving me a big hug and whipping the tears from my face

"Your the sister I never got, your my family" I said sobbing

"Aww Katelyn your like my twin, don't worry about your parents being gone, my family's like yours and you know that" she said pulling away and whipping the tears off my face

"Thanks Sadie" I said whipping my face off

"No problem but lets finished this run and out butts back to my place" she said starting to running I followed her, I had to stop and think I was a lucky person to have a friend who loved me like a sister, a boyfriend who loves, a second family who treats me like one of their own, so why should I dwell on the fact my parents have decided to take their jobs to the next level, I should be happy for what I have.
