Chapter 22: And Then There Were Five

I stood backstage with Janelle when she asked,"Who do you think will go home tonight?"

"I don't know. I love Laz, but that's my best guess. I'd hate to see anyone go though."

"Me too. He's a really sweet guy, but he's had a couple of rough performances."

Just then Amber came over and asked the same question Janelle did. "I think Lazaro. Don't you?" She added, looking at me.

"I'm not sure, maybe. I love him, and I don't want to see him go. Right now it's just important to focus on the show. Plus, I don't want to spread anything."

"I agree," Janelle started,"Right now the best thing to do is focus on the singing part of the show."

We were nodding in agreement as the manager came over and told us it was time to get on stage.

Tonight we were doing a Vurt Bacharach medley:

Janelle: "Mama told me always to follow the golden rule.

And she said its really a sin to be untrue.

So remember if you're untrue, angels up in heaven are looking at you.

You won't get to heaven if you break my heart.

So be very careful, not, to make us part.

Me: "I don't know what to do with myself.

I just don't know what to do with myself.

I'm so used to doing everything with you!

And planning everything for two!

And now that we're through.

I just don't know what to do."

Kree: "I walk along the city streets, you used to walk along with me.

Every step I take recalls how in love we used to be.

How can I forget you?

When there is always something there to remind me!

Amber&Candace: "I don't know how in the world to stop thinking about him.

I should be happy.

'Cause I still love him so!

Well one less man.

To pick up after!

No more laughter since!

Since he went away."

Amber: "He said darling, have a heart.

Don't let one mistake keep us apart!"

Candace: "Well I'm not made to live alone turns into a home!"

Amber&Candace: "When I climb a stair.

And turn the key.

Please be there.

I hope you're still in love with me."

Me: "Well you came into my life!

And now there's so much more I see."

Janelle: "And so you can remember."

All: "Keep smiling.

Keep shining, knowing you can always count on me.

Amber: "For sure!"

All: "Thats what friends are for!"

Laz: "In good times."

Candace: "And the bad times."

All: "I'll be in your side forevermore!"

That's what friends are!

That's what friends are for!"

Lazaro did end up getting voted off, but not before a big performance. We're gonna miss him, but here come the top 5!
