Chapter 8: Misfits

It was group round this week.I didn't pick anybody yet, but I had some ideas.It all changed later.

Everybody was in the arena.There were so many people that, like last week, I thought I was going to pass out.

I was surprised and a little disappointed when the producer said this,"Okay girls, plans changed a little bit this year. You won't be choosing groups. We will."

Great. With my luck, I'd be in a group with a bunch of weirdos.

"Okay, the groups are: KEZ BAN, Janelle Arthur, Breanna Steer, and Angela Miller." Awesome. "Your group may go ahead and start choosing and rehearsing your song."

I wasn't too thrilled about this. The only one that looked normal was Janelle.

We went through the double doors and went to the table with all the song choices.

It took quite a while, but we finally decided on "Be My Baby".

We rehearsed A LOT. When it was finally time to perform, KEZ BAN wasn't there.She finally decided to show up five minutes until showtime.

I'm not even going to get into that.Well, when we got on stage, KEZ BAN started with:

"The night we met, I knew I needed you so.

And if I had the chance, I'd never let you go."

Then it was Breanna's turn:

"And if you say you love me, that would make you so proud of me."

Then it was me.I love that burst of butterflies I get just before I start to sing, that instantly fade away;

"We'll make them turn their heads wherever place we go, so why don't you please oh now be my little baby!

Say you'll be my darling, be my baby now!"

Then Janelle:

"I'll make you happy baby, just wait and see.

For every kiss you give me, I will give you three.Since the day I saw you, I have been waiting for you.You know I will adore you, till it turns on me.So won't you please, be my little baby."

Then it was all of us with different melodies, and KEZ BAN ending with a big:

" Oohhhhh!"

I couldn't help but laugh.

I was so excited when I found out that we all got through.
