Chapter 12: I Was Here

I was sitting in a room with ten other girls waiting for their names to be called.

I watched as girls had their names called and saw them perform on the television in the room.

Ryan was back in the room about to call the next girl.I stared him down along with the other girls.

I just put my head in my hands and whispered 'oh my goodness' over and over again as I heard my name.

The other girls clapped as Ryan walked me out and backstage.I could hear the crowd going crazy to see who the next person was.

Ryan gave me a pep talk before we walked out.I saw the crowd and was overwhelmed.I saw my Mom in the crowd crying, and I waved to her.

I heard the music come on and started to sing "I was here" by Beyonce.

"I want to leave, my footprints, in the sands of time.

Oh there was something that, yes something that I left behind.

When I leave this world, I will leave no regrets.

Leave something to remember, so they won't forget.

I was here, I lived, and I loved.

I was here, I did, and I've done everything that I wanted and all that I thought it would be.

I will leave my mark, so everyone will know, I just want them to know that I gave my all and did my best, I brought someone some happiness!

I left this world a little better, just because...I was here!

I felt so good after I sang my victory song.I felt great and was enjoying the moment.

I looked back at my family in the crowd and smiled.

I made the top ten.I could do this.

I got to my hotel room after being stopped left and right by people congratulating me on making the top ten.

I signed some autographs before walking into the room and changing into my Pj's.

I got into bed and fell asleep with a smile on my face.
