Jade's POV
The next morning I woke up to the sound of my annoying clock. I checked the time 6:00crap
I thought, I'm going to be late. I groaned as I got our of bed. I got dressed and texted my best friend Melanie.
Melanie: Where are u?
Me: I'm on my way
Melanie: k

At school:
I unlocked my locker and unpacked my things. As I did I saw Melanie Walking over
"Hey I have bad news" she started."What?"
"I won't be able to come to your game tomorrow" she finally said.
"Why" I groaned
"Because I have a dance recital tomorrow,
Sorry"
"It's fine"
Tomorrow I have a basketball game against our rival school. And I can't wait!
After Melanie left I got my things to go to my class. I shut my locker and started walking. I saw a big group of boys coming toward me, the jocks, as I liked to call them. These boys are some of the most popular kids at my school. As I walked past them someone called my name I turned around. It was Eric the most popular one in that group and the one who stole every girls heart in my school, but I've never had much interest in them.
"Hey Jade"
"Um hey" I replied back.
"Good luck at the game!"
"Oh um thanks" I replied back confused
"Hey, Eric you coming or not!" One of his friends shouted toward us. I saw Eric give him a face signaling that he is coming.
"Bye"
"Bye"
That was weird I thought. I decided to just let it slide for now, because I have to get to class.

When I got home I couldn't stop wondering about Eric. Why would we talk to me?I'm the last girl he'd probably noticed? Plus, I'm not even that popular, or the type of girl to have a crush on him, I guess I never thought of him in that way. But I needed some advice from someone. Melanie. Melanie was always good at giving advice on these type of things, even though neither of us had actually had a real boyfriend I went ahead and texted her.Me: hey
Melanie : hey ill text you later I have to get ready for my recital sorry ttyl
Melanie: oh and good luck on your
game.😊Me: thx and ok
Oh well I'll tell her later. I glanced at the clock and realized that I actually need to start getting ready for my game.
At the game-
There were 5 minutes till tip off I looked at the crowd m, our entire student body was there. One side it was our school the other our rival school.
"Brrrrriiiiinnnnggggg" the buzzer went off signaling the game had begun.4th quarter of game
I ran across the court and glanced at the shot clock, 10 seconds left. I gave my teammate a face signaling that I was open for the ball. She chucked it toward me. Even though taking this shot would be a risk, it was still worth a shot We were already loosing by three points. With all my might I chucked the ball in the air.

Swoosh the ball went in. I couldn't believe it. I looked out to the crowd everyone was cheering. The my team came over to me and lifted me up and started cheering.10 minutes later Sarah, my teammate asked me if I could go get her phone from the locker room since we were getting ready to leave. I said yes because I already packed my stuff. I went in to the locker room and started looking.
10!minutes had passed by and I couldn't find her phone anywhere. I decided to he and let her know since there was no point of looking here, but when I got back to the court no one was there.
Weird.I thought maybe they were outside. I opened the door and I didn't see them I front of the school either there were just some kids from Clear Springs. Then something caught my eye, I looked at the floor and saw a path of rose petals leading behind the school.
I was quite curious so I decided to follow them. The petals came to a stop at our schools football field. I looked to see no one in front of me. Then I turned around to see my entire school standing around the field and the school band playing some music.
Now I was really confused.
I turned back around and saw the entire football team lined up in front of me each holding a letter I read the question and gasped. It read
Will You Go To Prom With Me?
I looked at the end of the line of football players and saw Eric standing with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. I was literally speechless, I mean I never thought about Eric in that sort of way. I didn't know what to say. While these thoughts went a through my head Eric came over and asked me"Well what do you say,"
I went through my options if I say no it won't only be embarrassing for him but me also, if I saw yes I'll actually have to go to prom with him......
"Yes"The crowd cheered and Eric hugged me, I hugged him back well I guess I'm going to prom with Eric.

After what happened with Eric I walked back to the front of the school to wait for my mom when I got a text from herMom: hey I'm stuck in traffic I'll be a little late.
Me: ok
Well I'll be here for a couple of minutes. I sat down on the bench and waited. I still couldn't believe that the Eric Ramos asked me to prom. I mean I guess I was just surprised because I never really had a relationship. Rather than what happened a long time ago I don't know if I would even consider that a relationship. But it's way to long of a story to tell now. My thoughts were interrupted by a car horn. I look up to see my mom's car. I sat in and greeted her.
"Hey sweetie, how was your game?" She asked .
"Great, I shot a winning half court shot."
"Oh my goodness, that's amazing, I'm so proud of you sweetheart!" She answered.Oh if you knew what the best part was
"Well, something happened after the game too." I started.
"Really, what?"
"I got asked to prom by the most popular guy in my school!!"
I said it in the most casual way possible. But moms reaction was way different.
She literally pulled over and looked at me
Until she finally spoke.
"SERIOUSLY, HOW DID HE ASK YOU....,"
Yeah I expected my mom to ask me all this. So I explained from the beginning and she was more excited than me.

The next morning in school everything was so awkward people actually came over and congratulated me. Plus, my phone was blowing up with notifications on snapchat, and Instagram. I was cramming my books in my locker when I felt someone tap me on my shoulder. To my surprise it was a person I would never expect to see on a daily basis. Though I was happy and a little disappointed at the same time. I never expected this. I stood there frozen.
"Hi" he started"Hi Cole" was all I could manage to get out of my mouth.
