Chapter 22

I dialed Cole's number and waited.
"Hey Jade."
Cole greeted.
"Hey Cole, you uh called."
"Oh yeah, where have u been, I thought we were up for movie night what happened?"
He asked.
"Well Cole actually something came up. Eric's was in the hospital."

The line went quite for a while.

"What happened?"

he asked in a quite voice.

I then proceeded to tell him the entire story.

"Wait, so you stayed in the hospital with Eric the past days?"

He suddenly asked.

"Um yeah,"

slowly answered.

"And you never decided to tell me?"

Cole asked.

"I honestly didn't think it mattered."

"You should've at least told me."

"Cole I don't understand why your making such a big deal about this."

"That's the point."

and with that the line went dead.

It had been an hour after me and Cole's conversation and I couldn't take it anymore.  at first I didn't understand why he had been mad, but now everything seemed clearer.

yet for some strange reason I felt as if I didnt do anything wrong. I mean yeah I should've told him, but he's the one who acted out so I don't think I should be apologizing.

I'd rather stay in and watch some Netflix.

The next day at school everyone kept talking about prom.

Crap

I totally forgot that prom was literally a day away!

Just as I slammed my locker shut I saw Melanie walking towards the hall.

"Hey has he talked to you yet?"
She asked

I told Melanie everything that had happened after I got home.

"Nope, I have t seen him all day and I don't think I have to be the one to apologize."
I replied.
"Well I don't think so either."
She replied with a warm smile.

"Anyways if you're still up for prom, I'll let Blake know and we can go toget-"

"No are you kidding?
Is prom M, you go have fun with Blake. I'll just meet u there."
I laughed.

"Are you sure?"she asked.

"Positive." I replied with a smile.

After I got home and finished my homework I had nothing to do.
I just sat in my desk doodling on my journal.
I checked my phone once or twice but no response.
After a couple of minutes I heard a strange thumping noise.
Curious, I got up to see what it was.
It sounded as if it came from my window.
I uncovered the curtains.

A pebble flew and hit my window followed by another.
I looked down and saw Cole standing there.
Cole's smirk grew wider as I opened my window.
"What Are you doing?"
I asked.
"I came to talk to you."
I scoffed
"From my window, and what's with the pebbles?"

"Well for one I thought this would jmbe more romantic, plus I know I've been a jerk." He said pulling himself up on my window.

"Well you got that part right."
I said softly.

"Well are you gonna help me get up or are you gonna just stand there."
He asked grinning
"Oh right, sorry."
I said as I grabbed his hands and helped him up.
He climbed up into my flor and dusted off his clothes.
"So.. Do you forgive me?"
He asked.
"I don't know, It wasn't the fact that you ignored me that hurt me but the fact that you didn't trust me."
I said.
"I know. I was stupid for not trusting you, I guess I was just scared of losing you."
He replied his eyes filled with sincerity.
"Cole, you might be worried about me leaving you but fortunately I'm not going anywhere, your stuck with me" I said laughing.
As I sat down on my bed.

"Well that's good news."
He replied chuckling sitting down next to me.

I turned and looked at Cole.
"I love you Cole."
I said.
Cole looked at me a little surprised.
"I love you too Jade."
He said closing the gap between us.
