Chapter 9

Jade's P.O.V
I ran to my car as fast as I could. I slammed the door shut and just processed what had happened. I had yelled at Cole and he thinks he didn't do anything Wrong?! 

I slammed my head on the steering wheel. 

"UGGH LIFE WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO CONFUSING I YELLED"

I looked out the window to see a girl, probably a freshman, with a horrified look. I gave her a look that said

What I'm just a normal teenager figuring out her life now get lost

Great, I thought I have had the worst day ever and now I sound like scrooge.

I put the key in the ignition and began to drive. All I wanted to do right now was cool down and think this through.

when I got home I knocked on the door but there was no reply. I quickly unlocked the door and went inside. And collapsed on the nearest thing which was thankfully the couch.

I heard my phone ring, it was a text from my mom.

Mom: we went to run some errands we'll be back in a couple of hours
And I made pasta it's in the kitchen

I was still upset about what happened at school so I lay in bed looking up at my ceiling and thinking. Technically it wasn't Cole's fault because he was just protecting me like he usually does.

Now I feel bad for going off on him he really didn't deserve it.

I was soon interrupted in my thoughts by a sudden noise downstairs.

It has only been thirty minutes I'm pretty sure mom wasn't home.

Startled , I grabbed my Jose Altuve signed Baseball bat that Eric had gotten me on one of our dates,and slowly walked out of my room tip toeing.

Slowly. Until I heard something move again, but this time it was coming from the front door. I walked quietly and stood against the wall with the bat held up high.

God please don't let me die today

I prayed. I heard the door slam shut and with all my strength I jumped out from Behind the wall and hit the intruder with my bat.

"OUCH"

A familiar Voice shouted. I dropped the bat in Shock.

I gasped and covered my mouth.

I front of me stood Cole who was grabbing onto his head in pain.

"OH MY GOSH COLE IM SO SORRY!" I said shocked.

"It's ok.. I kinda deserved that."

Cole said wincing in pain.

"I mean I know you were mad but I didn't think you'd be THIS mad."

Cole chuckled.

I felt my cheeks become read, and decided to come clean.

" Cole?"

"Yeah?"

" I hit you with my bat because I thought you were a robber." I quietly said.

Cole bursted out laughing.

I couldn't help but laugh with him.
All my anger towards him vanished.

I was still laughing Until I noticed his head was starting to bleed.
