{A/N I regret, I must end this story soon. It's been a wonderful journey with you guys. Thanks so much!! You're awesome readers!!
I have a couple chapters before the end, so it's not yet goodbye. Xx ~Pickles}
I followed Jay into the hospital. I hated it there. Bad memories arose. I fought to keep them down.
"Hi," Jay said to the lady at reception. "Um, we're looking to get a prescription for medicine for my boyfriend here."
She wrote something down. "The doctor will be with you soon." She flashed a smile.
"Thank you." Jay led me away to sit in a chair.
When the doctor finally took us to his room, he asked, "Nathan, is it?"
I nodded. "Yes, sir."
"Can you please tell me what's wrong?"
I breathed out. "I can't eat. I don't sleep well. I get tired easily. People can't touch me because my brain makes me think it burns. Just look at the report they wrote last time."
The doctor flipped through a stack of papers and read. He wrote something down. "Ok, Nathan, I'm going to go out on a limb and give you a medicine. I'm not sure if the pills will work, but they're the closest thing we have. It might make your slight schizophrenia go away. And it might help your eating disorder too."
Jay sighed in relief. "Thank you, sir."
"No problem. If there are any bad side affects, call me immediately." He handed Jay a card with his name and number. "You can pick up the pills at the pharmacy section."
I took the paper with the name of the pills and leapt out of my chair. "Thank you," I said before leaving.
We bought the pills and got home as soon as possible.
"It says to take two every six hours," Jay read. "We need water."
I filled up a glass and plunked two pills in. I swallowed it all.
"It takes thirty minutes to start working," he told me.
"Let's watch a movie while we wait," I suggested.
His eyes lit up. "Avatar?"
I laughed at his adorable love of the movie. "What else?"
He ran to the television and popped it in the player. I sat on the couch and he took my hand.
I watched the clock anxiously during the movie. When the time was up, I slowly leaned into Jay.
No problem.
"It works!" I exclaimed. "I don't hurt anymore!"
Jay cheered and swept me into a bear hug. I trailed my fingers along his back, savouring the feeling of being able to touch him again.
He pulled back and lowered his lips to mine. I tilted my head and closed my eyes. His lips were soft and fit with mine perfectly. I tangled my fingers in his curls and stood on my tip toes to be as tall as him. He chuckled against my lips, and I could feel the vibration.
Jay wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up. I made a noise of protest, but he didn't put me down.
I laced my arms around his back and pulled myself closer to him. This moment was perfect. When you've been holding something back for so long, and you finally get to do it...it's bliss.
"I'm so happy," Jay murmured against my mouth.
I parted our lips ever so slightly. "Me too, Jay. Me too."
"Do you feel okay? Do you think you can go back to normal?"
I nodded with a huge smile on my face. "I think so. But I should try eating, to make sure."
Jay put me down and ran to the kitchen, grabbing my leftover salad. He brought it to me with a fork.
I dug the fork in and took a bite. Then another. And another.
I started crying with happiness. "I can eat, Jay! I can eat! I don't hurt and I can eat and I can get better!"
Jay kissed me again. "This is amazing. I'm so happy." He buried his face into my bony shoulder.
After a moment of blissful silence, he exclaimed, "Good scene! Good scene!" And ran to the couch, eyes glued on the TV. I laughed and sat next to him. He slipped his arm around my waist and pulled me up next to him as I ate.
Thank god for the pills.
{A/N haay guys! So no one got the song references I threw into the last chapter. They were all titles of songs, and I won't tell you yet in case someone still gets a few right. :)
