We keep walking down the hallway until we are outside.
"Alright I have to get back to work." Mary Margaret tells me, "can you just head home? I'll meet you there when I'm done for the day."
"Got it." I reply, "do I have to go straight back? Can I just take my time."
"I guess so," she replies with a sigh. "Remember though no more trouble."
"Got it," I say.
After she gets into her car and leaves I go to my hiding spot for my skateboard. I pull it out and see that someone has found it. I inspect it and see the words: princess crazy. Great that'll be hard to clean off. I throw it on the ground and hop on heading for Granny's. I walk in the front door and sit at a table in the corner closest to the door.
"What can I get you?" Ruby, the waitress asks walking up to my table.
"Hot chocolate with cinnamon please." I ask her.
"Sure just a sec," she runs into the kitchen. A few minutes later she comes back with a cup of hot cocoa with cinnamon sprinkled perfectly on top.
"Thanks," I say as I take a sip.
"No problem," Ruby replies. "Shouldn't you be in school kid?"
"I should be, but I got in trouble." I reply.
"What'd you do?" She asks me.
"Someone was being a jerk and wouldn't stop," I begin to explain. "So I punched him. But he was the principal's son so I got suspended for to days."
"Bummer, sorry." She replies sympathetically, "oh and that'll be two dollars and thirty cents."
"Here." I say giving her two dollars and thirty cents.
After she leaves I pull out the paper. According to Henry, Ruby is Little Red Riding Hood, and her Granny runs this place. I shake my head, if I keep thinking like this I might actually believe it. After I finish my hot cocoa, I head home.
"Bummer." I say checking my pockets, "left my key in my locker. Now what?" I grab the two bobby pins out of my hair, happy I had used them today, and start picking the lock.
A couple seconds later I'm in. I step inside and throw my bag on the couch. I open the cupboard and grab a bag of chips, then head upstairs. Right before I can enter my room I hear a knock and head downstairs. I open the door and see the sheriff right outside.
"What'd I do this time?" I ask him sarcastically.
"Nothing I don't think." Sheriff Graham responds, "look I've just heard reports of someone attempting to break into here so I had to check it out."
"Yeah I forgot my key so I kinda had to pick the lock." I reply, "but it wasn't illegal because it was my own house, sorta."
"Alright, I'll agree." Graham reluctantly responds.
"Thank you, Mary Margaret would be sort of upset if I got in trouble twice today..." I reply thanking him, as he leaves.
I shut the door and go back upstairs with my bag of chips, stopping to grab a soda from the fridge. I sit on my bed and think. Do I really believe him? What if I really am crazy like they say I am. Suddenly my phone buzzes and I glance down at a text from Jacin, how did he get my number? I skim over it noticing the word crazy being repeated several times, then I shut off my phone completely.
