Chapter 16

Storybrook

"Umm, what do you want me to do?" I ask her with panic in my voice. "I'm not really the best person for a crisis seeing how I'm only like 10 or something thanks to the curse.... but that's beside the point. How can I help?"

"I don't know." Regina replies sounding more annoyed then panicked like I am. "Just go get Mary Margaret or Emma or someone and tell them I guess. Just not Henry please ."

"Fine." I respond with a huff, "just don't think I've forgotten about the whole being locked up in a tower for a couple weeks thing."

"Yeah, yeah I know." Regina nonchalantly responds, "just go get someone please. Before you annoy me to death."

"Fine." I say back and walk out of the room.

I should probably be hurrying, but it's just Regina... no I can't be the chooser of who lives and who dies. I finally decide.

I pick up the pace and start to run. I realize how far the loft is from the sheriff office. A few minutes later I get to the very bottom of the flights of stairs. By the second flight I'm wishing there was and elevator or something. After going up all the stairs I open the door to the loft, completely out of breath.

"Hey Claire we were wondering when you were coming back-" Mary Margaret starts.

"No time, look I need to tell you something." I say in between breaths.

"Okay what?" David asks standing up with Mary Margaret.

"Okay so I went to go see Belle, because we were friends, I guess, in the Enchanted Forest." I begin to explain, "when I got there she and Gold were talking. Then he left and I decide to follow him-"

"Why?" Emma asks cutting in.

"I was curious." I reply half lying, "anyways I followed him to the sheriff office and watched him go outside then come back out. I went inside and he had done something to Regina. She said she might only have a couple hours left or something. She could probably explain it better. Anyways she sent me to find you guys, so here I am."

"Okay," David says. "We should probably hurry."

"Okay, let's go!" I say agreeing with them.

"Claire, how about you stay here." Mary Margaret tells me, "just so nothing bad happens to you."

"But I want to come." I plead, "I promise I won't cause any trouble please."

"Sorry, but Mary Margaret's right." Emma replies agreeing with her, great. "Sorry." Then they all grab their jackets and leave me alone in the loft.

"Great, thanks for leaving me here." I say to myself because everyone else left. "Since I'm completely alone, I guess that means it's okay to go find them. So..." I grab my jacket and put it on. Then I grab my skateboard, "looks like I'm going to 'find' them."

I run out of the loft and back down the stairs. Once I'm on the street I hop on my skateboard and slowly skate over there. I'm almost there when the ground begins to shake.

"Whats going on!?" I yell, but it appears no one is around. I look up and see this black hooded figure thing, fly in the direction that the others went. "I'm assuming it has something to do with that..." I run in the same direction, knowing it's a stupid idea, but do it anyways. If I beat it there, I can earn them.

I get outside the mayor's office and city hall of sorts, where they took Regina after first stopping by the sheriff's office. I pull open the door quickly and realize I left my skateboard in the middle of the street hopefully no one runs over it with their car. I run in and see that I'm to late.
