Unforgettable

Chapter 8

Wonderland
"I'll make you a deal." The queen tells me.
"Okay what us this deal?" I ask her.
"If you can one of my knights in a duel, you and one other person can go through my mirror. Deal?" She asks, if I can win Mad Hatter and I can both leave this place.
"Deal." I agree sealing my fate wether it's death or defeating her knight.
"Great." The queen whispers to the knight on her left, who leaves and returns with another. "Here is the knight you will face." She leads us to this arena. "Choose your weapons." I watch the knight pick up a sword feeling it in his hand. I pick a dagger, mostly because I can't use a bow in an arena of this size.
After we have our weapons picked the Queen leaves the arena and a metal door slides down into place. Separating us and them. The knight takes the first jab, he's quick, but I dodge quicker. I stab at him with my dagger and realize a sword would have been more practical. He swings again, but I don't dodge as quickly this time and it gets my arm. I try to ignore the pain, and stab again, this time I'm successful. I kick the sword out of his hand and he falls to the ground. I hear the crowd yelling at me to finish him. I didn't notice there were people watching us. I throw my dagger down and instantly hear people booing me.
"I defeated your knight." I tell up to the Queen of Hearts. "Now let me go home."
"Fine." She agrees calming the crowd.
I watch the gate go up and see two guards come out and they grab my arms dragging me with them. They lead me, not towards where the Queen is, but into the castle. We go up several flights upstairs, and I realize we're going into one of the towers. Is the mirror in the tower?
"Where are we going?" I ask them, but they ignore me. We step inside a room, and they leave me in there and close the door quickly behind them. I run over to the handle and try to open it. I look around and the room appears empty.
"They locked it." A voice from the other side of the room says, I look over and see the Hatter.
"What are you doing here?" I ask him, "the Queen and I made a deal. A deal where both of us ended up going home." I inform him.
"Well you should have learned by now, the Queen lies." He replies, sounding slightly annoyed.
"I do not." The Queen says as she opens the door, "I just twist the truth."
"Let us go." I tell her, "you need to hold your end of the deal."
"Or I could not and just keep you here forever, no one would ever know." She replies, "unless..."
"Unless what?" I ask her, "please I'll do anything to get out of here, no offense your majesty."
"None taken." She replies nonchalantly, "look in this other realm that you will travel to, someone is about to cast a curse to take everyone there to another place. You will go with them and make sure nothing happens."
"And what if we don't want to?" Mad Hatter asks her.
"Then you'll never get to see Grace again." She replies and I see him sinking back to the corner, and she smiles knowing she hit a soft spot.
"We'll do it." I say agreeing.
"Good I thought you would be reasonable." The Queen replies, "you leave tomorrow."
