Sal's POV
1 week later (plot twist is starting here.)

I was sitting on the couch on Periscope (Yes, I know he doesn't, but whatever...) when Joe called me. "Hello?" "Sal, I have some news." "Dear god. What is it?" "I have Haley. I had her with me for a week. She heard what you said." "You're kidding. Joe why didn't you tell me? You knew how much this means?" "So she's a this now?" "I'm on Periscope." "Mute it." I sighed and said, "Guys just wait," and muted it. "Joe, you know how much she means to me. Why didn't you tell me?" "She didn't trust you yet. She said to give her a week and she'll give me an answer." "An answer about what?" "I said she has to talk to you at some point and she said to give her a week." "Has she made an answer?" "Is she talking to you?" "No." "Then there's your answer." "But why wouldn't she want to talk to me?"

"Sal, she's afraid of you. She's afraid you'll hurt her again and Emily, your daughter. Haley has never been hit until you hit her. Of course she'll be scared of you and run. You need to learn to control anger, Sal, or you'll never get her back." "Is she there now? Listening to this conversation?" "No, she's actually sleeping for the first time in about a month." I sighed, "Can I come over?" "Sal, I don't think--" "Joe please?" "Fine, but if you scare her I swear to god, Sal," he threatened. "I won't try to scare her." "Good. When are you coming?" "Now." "Ugh fine. See ya when you get here." "See ya." He hung up and I turned the volume back on. "Hey guys. I have to go. It's important. I'll be on sometime soon. Love you guys. Bye." I shut my laptop and grabbed my keys. I opened the door, "It's Britney bitch." That'll never get old.

I drove to Joe's house and slammed my door...Maybe that's a bad idea. I knocked on the front door and Joe answered. He let me in and I walked into the living room. There she was sleeping, peacefully. I slowly walked to her and held her close. I missed this closeness a lot. Her scent filled my nose and I breathed it in. I missed this so much. I looked to Joe and asked, "Can I see my daughter?" "I don't think that's a good idea. Besides it's not me you should be asking." I sighed and brushed hair out of Haley's face. She stirred, but didn't wake up.

I then whispered in her ear, "I'm not going to hurt you anymore. What I did was wrong." She then woke up and jumped up. "Get away," she hissed. "I'm not gonna hurt you." "I want you out of my life." "Why?" "Because, I'm dating Joe." My eyes went pitch black and I glared at Joe and went after him.
