Sal's POV

I heard them talking. She was defending me, when it should be I, defending her. I was about to walk in until I heard nothing. I then walked in and no one was there. I looked out the window and ran to the front door. Joe was gonna lead her on and I was not going to let her get hurt. She was the hider and I was the seeker. This was a badass game of hide and seek. I then heard a scream and I think I knew who it was. I sighed and ran faster feeling the cool air hit my face. Ugh, I hate when it's 67 degrees. It's too cold. I needed to find her and I did but didn't. She was in this area, but not where she needed to be. I was standing on the cliff she was supposed to be and she wasn't there. The waters weren't calm, meaning someone jumped, fell, or got pushed. I then realized she was the one who fell.

I heard someone walk up behind me and turned around. Kerri. Then I saw Joe. He had Emily, who was crying. I narrowed my eyes and quickly grabbed her and handed her to Kerri. I then took Joe around the neck, and bang it hard against a tree, so he had a major cut in his head. I hope the fucker dies. "I'll be back," I whispered to Emily. She looked at me with more tears in her eyes and I felt terrible, but I needed to save her mother. "She'll be fine Sal. Just go." I nodded and jumped off the cliff hitting the water a second later. That really fucking hurt.

I saw something towards the body and swam to it. Haley. I grabbed her around the waist and held her close to me. I was not letting her die. I broke through the water and quickly grabbed on a rock nearby. I clung to the rock and Haley. She was extremely pale and I knew she was cold. I looked over to my right and saw that the shore was about 100 feet away. I groaned and then I saw Kerri with Emily. "Sal! Hang on! I'm getting the boat untied!" I sighed in relief until I felt my hand slipping. "Kerri!"

"I got it!" She rowed the boat here and I carefully pulled myself in holding Haley close. "Here, take my coat." I reached for it and wrapped Haley in it. She needed it more. I then saw her eyes flutter. She looked at me and hugged me tightly. I held her tightly to me and I felt her shiver. I looked at Kerri and she frowned. She then got out of the boat with Emily and I got out with Haley. She clung to me and I could feel her trying to use her strength. "Don't hurt yourself. I've got you," I whispered. She looked at me and kissed me.

She then laid her head on my shoulder and Kerri looked at me with a smile. She then mouthed, 'She's sleeping.' I smiled and shook my head. 'She needs it.' Kerri nodded and tied the boat with one hand, which is actually impressive. Kerri then started walking back to the road. It was fucking cold, but I had to follow her. "Sal, do you want my sweatshirt?" She asked. "No, I'm fine," I lied. "I know you're lying, but okay." I snickered and punched her. "I would punch you back, but you know I have Emily and you have Haley."

I laughed and Kerri flipped me off. "Can you not in front of my daughter?" Kerri laughed and shook her head. I groaned and was relieved when the house came into view. I looked at Haley's face and worried crossed my face when I saw how pale she was. "Kerri," I whispered. "Sal we're almost there." "Kerri stop." "Sal what?" She asked turning around. Tears fell down my face and Kerri quickly pushed my shoulders. "Get inside now. I'll start the water." Then it clicked. When she stopped fighting to swim, water had to get in her lungs. "She needs CPR," I mumbled. "What?" "She. Needs. CPR."
