Sal's POV

I held my head in my hands crying. I didn't want to lose her and I did, again. I then heard a scream. I ran out of the museum and screamed, "Haley!" I saw Joe and her friend, Bessy, come running also screaming her name. I ran down the stairs and tackled Shane. I punched him and broke his nose. I punched him again and knocked him out. I ran over to Haley where Joe and Bessy were. I grabbed her head and laid it in my lap. "Don't you dare leave. You can't leave our daughter. Fight for her. Fight for Joe, Bessy, Lindsay, and Sarah. Fight for me," I whispered. I took my sweatshirt off and tied it around her thigh so it had pressure.

I then put my hand on her heart, I could feel her heart slowing down, and I quickly picked her up bridal style. "She's not gonna survive, Sal. The hospital is too far from where we are. I know. I used to live here in Staten Island. From where we are she won't be able to hold on. You need to let her go." "Bessy, I'm not gonna watch her die. It's worth the risk to try." "There is no risk, Sal. You don't know how much I want to help you, but I'm not getting involved. It'll be worse for her. It'll make her die quicker." "I'm taking that risk," I said firmly.

Bessy sighed and I ran off with Haley. I could feel Joe behind me on my heels. "Sal! Do you want to kill her faster?!" "Joe, if she does die, at least it's not as painful and slow. I'm helping her, yet I'm not!" "Sal you're crazy!" "I learned from the best!" Joe went quiet and I ran faster. "Please fight for a little longer, baby." I saw her eyes flicker and felt her heart speed up again. She looked at me and whispered, "I love you and I'm sorry." She then closed her eyes again. "Haley, no. You're not leaving. I won't let you." Her breathing was shallow and I knew I needed to run faster, so I pushed my legs as fast as I could.

I finally saw the hospital come into view and sighed in relief. I ran in and they took Haley from me. I was about to go after her, but Joe held me back. "Sal, you can't go in there. She'll be fine." "How do you know she won't survive?"
