The Story of How Élaine Got Me Taped to a Fucking Pole

Well, at least my phone did not die

At the last day of school, I really did not want to go to school at all, I just wanted to stay in bed and play with my pet turtle Ruben. But my mum, as the educationally correct citizen she was, forced me out of bed. And as I brushed my teeth, I could only think about how to revenge this cruel act.
"You know that you have to go, it's the last day Aurora!" she tweeted and danced around the kitchen while washing the dishes. I just fumed and continued to eat my cereal.
"Glad to know you're eager to start the day!" my mum said after a while and laughed at me. I could not help but smile a little bit, even though I was mad, my mum always managed to make me smile.

The bus was already at the bus-stop when I went out the door. But I was not going on the bus, thank god. It's really nice to be on a bus, to be able to sleep or just look out of the window, sometimes. Other times, it's pure hell, with yelling grade schoolers in the front and drunk nineteen year olds in the back. So I rode Percy to school sometimes, when I didn't feel like risking having to face screams as loud as a detonating bomb. I put on my helmet, turned on the music, and wheeled out my beautiful motorcycle.
"Later suckers!" I whispered as I drove smiling out of my parkway and past the bus. I tore off in 100km/t and let out a little scream of joy as the strong wind pulled at my body.

When I arrived at school, there was about a quarter left before class, so I decided to call Even and meet him wherever he was. He told me he was sitting in the weird chairs right beside the canteen, so that's where I went. He was sitting with Madelaine, and they were sitting suspiciously close to each other. Madelaine is a girl in the same class as Even, she usually forgets her homework, but she is a really nice girl, and she has known Even since kindergarten. I used to hang out with her at the start of the school year, but we found out that we just don't have enough things in common to have fun hanging out together.
"Hey," I said and tried to smile as if nothing was wrong. They both looked up at me and waved, as if they did not understand that they were sitting too close to each other when Evens girlfriend was coming over. I sat down on the other side of Even, and leaned my head on his shoulder just to signal that this was my boy. I'm not a clingy person, really, I don't even get jealous that often, but this had gone on for quite some time now, and I was starting to get tired of it. Even though I really wanted to hate Madelaine because of this, I just couldn't do it, she was just such a nice person, a person it's impossible to hate. One just have to like her. Even told me that he was getting a puppy the week after we were going to sleep at his cabin, and I naturally freaked out. Who wouldn't freak out about the news of a cute, little, furball og happiness! But then the joy ended, as it was time to go to class. And I watched as Even and Madelaine walked off in a different direction than me, a bit too close to each other.

Trine, June and I walked together as we walked towards the PE-building, it was the last thing we were going to do before school ended. Most of our classed walked behind us, taking life easy and hoping to miss some of the show the graduates had put up for our 'entertainment'. But not us, Trine, June and I just wanted to get it over with.
"Hey, Aurora, I saw Even and Madelaine sitting together this morning, it really looked Madelaine was flirting with him!" June said angrily and twisted some of her now green hair around one of her fingers.
"Yeah, I saw them too. You should watch out, or she will steal him from you!" Trine added angrily. It was kind of fun to watch Trine when she was angry, she always gesticualtes so much, and this time, she almost smacked June in the face.
"Hey, watch it!" June yelled out and pushed Trine lightly towards the ditch. I just laughed, but did not answer them. Trine hugged me, even though we kept on walking, so it must have looked really weird and clumsy.
"Poor Aurora, we'll make sure Even remembers that you're his one and only buttercup," she said and squeezed me tightly. "
Yeah, sure," I mumbled and looked down at the ground. "But could you let go of me, please?"

The show was quite good actually. It started with a band playing some Justin Bieber songs, (which was not something I enjoyed, but they were pretty good) and then they played several short skits. The one I liked particularly good was a skit about one of the janitors on our school that always sings while cleaning. They had made him into 'Johannah Montana', janitor by day, superstar by night. It might sound stupid, but it was quite fun to watch. After the show was over, I found Even standing outside of the building, and he was actually alone. I grinned and walked towards him. He smiled back and said: "What a stupid show, am I right?"
"I don't think so, I thought it was fun to watch!" I said and hugged him.
"Really?"
"Yeah!"
"You know what? Some times, I don't get you, Aurora," he said and looked up on the sky. It was a lot of clouds, and judging the colour of them, it would start raining really soon.
"Oh fuck," I blurted out and let go of the hug.
"What?" he asked and looked worried.
"It's going to rain! I drove Percy to school! I have to go, like, now! Unless I want to be soaked in water by the time I get home," I kissed him quickly and started running back to Percy. I could tell you about how I miraculously managed to get back to Percy and drive all the way home before it started raining. I could tell you that I did not manage to get back home before it started raining, and that I lost grip in a turn and ended up in hospital. But that's not what happened, I'm not that lucky, neither am I that unlucky. What happened, was that I had just managed to put on my helmet and push play on the music, before it started drizzling. I had gotten halfway home before it felt like the ocean itself had decided to jump out of its place between Europe and America and rain down on me instead, and by the time I was home, I had literally no dry spots on my body. Not even inside of the helmet. Not even my bum, which I had been sitting on the entire time. Usually, I love rain, but not when I have to ride Percy for half an hour. The roads get slippery, the sight gets worse, and cars in general turn into spinning metal-cages of death hurling towards me uncontrollably in 80km/t.

I locked myself in and walked right into the bathroom. I undressed inside of the shower, and laid the clothes out to dry on the heated floor. After I had showered, I checked my phone to see if it had survived the drive through the Atlantic ocean. Surprisingly, it turned on, so I hurried to put the phone in a bowl of rice and prayed to whichever god is the god of fixing phones. Ruben laid inside of his shell in his cage, and I guess he was asleep. I lifted him out of it anyway and placed him on my lap.
"You lucky turtle! You got to stay at home while I had to go to school, but guess what you little fucker, it's summer vacation now! So I get to be just as lazy as you!" I said and stroke his little shell. He peaked his head out of his shell and looked at me, as if he was saying: I don't fucking care Aurora, but now that you're here, would you mind giving me some lettuce? That's when the phone rang, it made a weird, bubbly, crackling noise, but it rang. I put Ruben back into his cage and went to get it.
