Love At First Bite

CHAPTER 6

Calum's POV

I drove through the relatively dark streets with Rose and my in-laws. We were having them over for the weekend since none of us were working. The current topic was when Rose, her sisters and Melissa met me and Zayn in high school. "Remember those ripped up band t-shirts you used to wear and how obsessed Zayn was with his hair?" Regina asked me.

"Yeah I do."I laughed at the memories of us in high school. Zayn and I had our bands and the girls had they're own little group of friends.

"You could swear the holes got bigger each time someone listened to one of your songs."she smiled. I was going to reply when I remembered that Shaloma was home alone with Tyra, and Aurora had stormed out and didn't come back. "Hold on a second guys I have to call home."I said.

"Why? I'm sure Aurora for back by now."Rose said holding my hand while it was sat on my lap. She's probably right but I don't plan on taking any chances.

"I know I just worry about them." I picked up my phone and glanced from the road time to time to dial the number. I tapped my fingers against the wheel as it rang.

Hello? I heard Shaloma say as she picked up.

"Hi honey." I replied.

Oh hey dad. She sounded like she had some sort of fear of me for some reason.

"I'm almost home."

Okay cool.

"Is Aurora back yet?"

Yeah she actually just got here

"Okay good. We're two blocks away."

Okay cool. I was about to say more but she hung up on me. I couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Soon we were in the driveway right outside the house. I turned off the car, got out with everyone and unlocked the front door.

"Girls we're home!"I yelled through the house. Everyone headed for the living room where they began laughing and smiling at whatever they were talking about. I pulled off my jacket and hung it on the railing while I was going upstairs.

"Girls. Come down here. Your aunts and uncles are here." I walked into they're room to find Shaloma sitting on the bed looking somewhat nervous.

"Hey dad." She said with a shaky voice fiddling with a bracelet she had on.

"Hi bunny rabbit."I said. "Where's your sister?"

"Oh um she went somewhere that I can't remember exactly."she replied nervously.

"Why can't you remember? It was only 5 minutes between when I called and when I got here."I said folding my arms.

"Well daddy a lot of things could've happened between then and now. I mean fires could have started, babies could have been born, actually when you think about it time is really val-"

"Shaloma where is Aurora?"I asked cutting off her meaningless ramble. I stared deep into her eyes waiting to get an answer, a good answer. She looked as if she was about to give up and tell me where my daughter was when I heard an unusual voice coming from the closet. My head whipped across to the voice then back to Shaloma. "Who's in there?"

When she wasn't able to give me a proper answer I walked quickly over to the closet. On pulling open the door I saw Aurora, with her fangs, and a boy, who looked like one of the worst enemies of any vampire, a werewolf.

"Who is that?!"I yelled, my eyes turned black with anger and my fangs shot out. It was something that happened only when I was angry and on the verge of attacking.

"D-dad" Aurora muttered. "It-it's not what it looks like."

"Then who the heck is it?!"I yelled losing more and more of my patience everytime she failed to give an answer.

"He's just a friend okay? Calm down."she said silently.

"Calm down?! When you brought a werewolf into my house?!"I screamed.

"Dad for one he's hurt and two he's not a werewolf, and why would you have an issue if he was, mom was a werewolf."

"Your mother wouldn't hurt a fly! Neither of us know what the hell he is capable of!"

"I'm sorry dad but he's hurt and I don't plan on leaving him to die."she mumbled. I had had enough of her not obeying me. I don't know if it was even possible but my eyes turned an even darker shade of black.

I grabbed the boy by his shirt and pulled him out the closet, and held him out of the open window. Aurora let out a shriek which made everyone run into the room.

"Calum what are you doing?!"yelled Rose from behind me.

"He's a werewolf. He's probably here to kill all of us."I growled.

"Melissa was a werewolf too you know!"Regina yelled. "Let him go!"

"Out of the window?! Gladly!"I was about to throw him out when Aurora grabbed hold of my hands.

"Dad please! At least care that he's someones kid! Would you like it if his mom threw me out of a window?!"she pleaded with me to let him go.

I contemplated it for a while before pulling him in and throwing him onto the floor. "Get the hell out of my house and don't come back."
