Love At First Bite

CHAPTER 15

Rose's Pov

I sat  the  back of the car playing  with  the small  hairs on Zainah's  head, smiling at her little face. She's such a blessing  to me and Calum and I couldn't  love her any more. I wasn't  always able to provide  for Tyra or be the  best mother but I knew that  I  wouldn't  make the same mistake  with her. The more I look at her, the more I see Cal and I and the more I see Cal and I the more I smile. Calum would be such a good father to her, she'd  grow up getting everything  she needed. I love her and I love Cal.

I love Cal.

That was the first time I thought that. I don't  even know where it came from. I love Cal. I mean I do feel a huge  amount of guilt for using such a sweet person and I did have small feelings for him in the past but I don't  know  if I love him. I actually  don't  know  what  I feel for him at all. At first I didn't really  care, then I started liking him as a person  and now I just don't  know.  If anything it's  probably  because  I  had his kid. Yeah, it's  probably  that. I hope it's  that. Is it that? I tried to ignore  the thoughts but I couldn't. I reminded  myself  of why I was there, get his money and give it to Tyra so she'll  be  okay.

After thinking that, watching Zainah  was hard, I saw his smile each time she laughed  and his eyes each time she was happy, so I stared out the window. I stared blankly out the window  looking at everything  that passed by.

After a while  we were  back at home, parked in the driveway. There was  one  thing that was different, though, Philip was standing  at the door.

"Cal don't."I said grabbing  his shoulder  knowing what he was going to do.

"Don't what? Get the animal  off my property?" he said angrily before getting up and marching up to him.  "What are you doing on my property?"he asked sternly. I got out the car and went up to him.

"Calum just stop you're gonna cause a scene." I said pulling him to face me.

"I don't  care, he's  on my property  and I don't  want him on my property."

"Can't  you  just  let the boy breathe?"I asked looking at Philip, who seemed scared out of his mind. "And either ways this was and still is my property and I have no problem  with  him being here so you're going to stop harassing the child and leave him be."

"Rose-"

"Did I stutter?" I gave him a look before going and taking Zainah out of the car. I turned back and began speaking to the both of them, "You are going to stop bullying Philip and Philip you are going to stop being so scared of him. Now can one of you just open the door so I can take my child inside?"

The both of them stared at me blankly before  Cal went to open the door. Just as he was going to grab the handle Aurora opened it. She was dressed nicely with her hair and makeup done. Like she was going out on a date. But if she was going out on a date she would've  had to tell her dad, and she didn't. But looking  at  the expression  on her face it was clear she was going out with Philip and said nothing.

Calum himself couldn't comprehend what was happening. He kept looking between  Aurora and Philip with an exasperated look on his face. She gave him a pleading look while Philip just seemed more scared than before. We all stood in silence for some seconds, mainly because no one really knew what to say. I knew Calum was over exaggerating and that's why  I  didn't  react. Aurora knew it too and that's probably  why she didn't  bother trying to talk.
I knew that Cal would say something and it wouldn't  really end well. I decided  to  pull him into the house and tell Aurora to have a good time so she'd  at least leave sort of happy and her makeup in tact.

"What was that for?"he asked. I rolled my eyes at him before responding. "Calum you're overreacting, she's  a 15 year old girl. She's gonna go on dates, leave her be."

"She's  my daughter of course I'm gonna react like this. Especially  if  she's  going  out with him."

"Cal you haven't  even had one proper conversation with the boy. How can you know that he isn't good for her? You can’t  just say something like that."

"I know but she's my baby girl Rose, I'm  not  planning  on  letting her get hurt by some douchebag."

"She's  Aurora, she's a smart girl. She can handle herself and if she does get hurt she's  gonna go to you first."

"I know."

I hugged him and gave him a small peck on the lips before we took Zainah up to the baby room. He  took care of her so well and he never stopped making her laugh. I really  think I love him, but I have to remember, get his money and give it to Tyra so she'll  be  okay.

Philips Pov

After the confrontation  with Aurora's dad and her mom saving us I've  gotten a lot more nervous  about our date. She looked so beautiful, everything  about her was entrancing. Her eyes, her smile, her laugh, everything. I wasn't  going  to  let  her dad  get in the way of me having her. 

"You look very beautiful Miss Hood."I said flashing a smile.

"You look pretty snazzy yourself Mr Leo." she replied. "Where are  you  taking  me?"

"A place." I replied with a smirk. She laughed, the sweet melody left her lips and hit my ears sounding like the most beautiful  ballad.

Then out of the corner  of  my  eye, I saw a man in a vintage  Ford staring at us  across the road. I tried to shake it off but he wouldn't  shift his gaze. I couldn't  be  any happier when we got to the top of the street and had to turn a corner.

"You okay?"she asked noticing that something  was wrong.

"Yeah, I'm  fine." I said smiling and putting my arm around her.

Soon enough we were approaching my mother's old restaurant. When she died my dad sold it to a rich couple. They said they'd let me visit whenever I wanted but my dad  banned me from going. So whenever I miss her I sneak out and come down here.

"This place looks nice." She said looking at the building.

"It used to be my mom's." I told her opening  the  door. I then led her to one of the best tables.

"You don't  talk about your mom very much. Tell me about her."

"She died when I was eleven."

"I am so sorry, I didn't  know, I didn't  mean to bring it up."

"It's fine, Beauty, I would've  had to tell you either ways."

After that we just sat in silence and I ordered for the both of us. I couldn't help but stare at her, she seemed so perfect. Until she looked up with fear engraved in her eyes.

"Oh my God." She muttered under her breath.

"What what is it?" I asked worrying about her.

"He's  here."she mumbled. I turned around to see the same guy from before staring at us from the door.
