CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

I can't believe that my dad is trusting me to have a party all by myself. Me and Heather went to the mall to go pick out an outfit for me to wear tonight. I went into Forever 21 looking for an outfit I seen this cute black short dress. I tried it on it was a perfect fit. I was paying for the dress when I seen Chris walking into the store with some girl. I was still scared of him I know he was mad about me messing up his face. He started walking over to me I was so scared I just stood there I didn't know what to do.

"Happy birthday Jasmine." I looked at him "Thanks Chris well I seen you done moved on." He looked at me "Na she just a hoe you will always be my girl no matter what you say." He moved closer to me I smiled at him "Well I have to go meet Heather see you around." He smiled at me "Okay I will see you tonight at the party if I can go." I looked at him "How did you know I was throwing a party?" He smiled at me "Its on your Facebook." I smiled at him "So can I go I won't start nothing I just want to hang out with you." I looked at him "Sure Chris I will see you tonight." I walked out to go meet Heather at the Pizza Place. For some reason I still like Chris even though he was hitting me all the time I miss him

Heather came up to me "So what did you buy?" She asked me I smiled at her "You can't see it until we get home." She looked at me like I was her mom telling her that she can't buy nothing at the store. We walked out to my car. "Well I did something bad but I don't care." I told her as we got into the car "What did you do Jasmine?" I smiled at little bit "Well I ran into Chris and I invited him to the party."

Heather looked at me "Well I can't say nothing about that because when I first got with Alex he was always hitting me." I looked at her "Really I would have never think Alex was like that." She smiled at me "Yeah he was even though he was always hitting me I would leave him for awhile then I would run back so I understand Jasmine." I gave her a hug "Wow okay because I still love him is that wrong?"

We pulled up to my house I seen Ashley's sister's car in the drive way. We went inside they were all sitting down in the living room. I went over to my mom "Can I talk to you really fast?" She looked at me "Yeah let's step outside." We went outside to the backyard I went to sit down on the little bench that we had "What's wrong Jasmine you look pale?" I fake a smile on my face "Well today at the mall I ran into Chris and I invited him to the party." She looked at me "All I can tell you baby girl is follow your heart but be sure that if you get back with him that he will never hit you again." I smiled at her

"Thank you mom I just feel like everyone besides you and Heather are going to be mad at me." She looked at me "Well if Marcus is your true friend he will stand by your side no matter what you choose." I smiled at her "How did you know I was talking about him?" She smiled at me "Because I was your age once I understand how it feels because I lost my best friend." We went inside I was going to get in the shower when Marcus came into my room "Is it true that you invited Chris to the party" I looked at him "Yes but please listen to me I can explain Marcus!" He walked out of my room I followed him

He walked outside "MARCUS!" I yelled at him he turned around and looked at me "What Jasmine?" I could feel the tears falling from my face "Please just let me explain to you." He looked at me than he turned around and punched his car. I could tell that he was mad "Why would you go back to that low life Jasmine." I looked at him "Please Marcus I need you right now as a friend." He looked at me

'WOW I can't believe you would do this after what happen last night Jasmine." He started walking away I just stood there watching him walking away from me. I was about to go inside when I heard footsteps behind me I turned to see Marcus walking back "I thought you was smarter than that Jasmine and you can forget me as a friend because I'm done." I looked at him "Really I thought you would remember your promise but I guess promises are meant to be broken huh Marcus."

He looked at me than he walked back to his car and took off I run up to my room. I was crying so hard when I noticed my dad standing there "I heard everything Jasmine I hope that you will make sure that he will never lay his hands on you or I will kill him." I looked at him "Daddy I can't believe that Marcus would just leave like that." He looked at me "Just give him some time baby girl I know y'all promised each other that y'all will always be friends no matter what happen between y'all." I smiled at him
