12. Sickness

Ah Friday, I had gotten through a week without losing my temper. I arrived early to school, so the day would seem quicker. First lesson was a drag, as alway-trigonometry with Mr Varner. Lesson two was alright-history with Mrs Brown- we were learning about World War II. Third was chemistry, I'd have to endure a hour of four stinking vampires-Lottie, Lucy, Georgia and Zac. It was ten mintues in, then suddenly I started having strange hallucinations about the four leeches feasting on the class. I blinked and it all disappeared, I turned around to the four ghastly creatures and Georgia was concentrating on me. Cautiously, I turned round to face the front, but suddenly I felt sickness come over me. I quickly ran to the bathroom and threw up. What was wrong with me? I was fine this morning. Jake picked me up after that,to my surprise Seth was in the car as well. A smile grew across my face. I hopped into the back seat next to him. " what's up with you?" Jake asked.

" It must be the flu, could you turn down the air con please." I said. This was strange because wolves couldn't feel the cold.

" You definitely haven't got the flu, Em your shivering and your a werewolf." Seth said in a worried tone.

" Right, that's it, I'm taking you to Carlisle to get you checked out." Jake urged. As we drove to the Cullens, I moved closer to Seth, I laid my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around me. It was nice to feel the warmth for once, it was like being wrapped up in a warm duvet on a cold night.

I nearly fainted when we got to the Cullen's house, so Seth had to carry me. Bella was first at my side."What's up with her, is she alright?" Bella asked Seth nervously as he walked through the door.

" I don't know, she was like this when we picked her up," he said worried. Bella put her hands on my forehead to feel my temperature, I gasped at the coldness, she quickly removed it. This was because for the first time ever our temperatures were the same. Carlisle examined me while Seth sat me down on the sofa. "she's still alive, and she'll be better tomorrow but how the sickness came upon her I do not know." Carlisle announced. I heard everybody sigh with relief. "Take her home, tell me if she gets worse." Carlisle urged.

Seth picked me up again and placed me back in the Rabbit. Jake dropped us off at my house and Seth carried me in. He placed me down when we got in. I found a small piece of paper that read:

Going on a fishing trip,I'll be back by sunday morning. Food in the fridge, if you need anything call Bells or Jacob.

Charlie

I went upstairs and laid still in my bed,to gain heat. Even with the duvet on me I still felt the cold.

" Your shivering and not getting any warmer, so I'll have to step in." he murmured while taking his t-shirt off.

"Seth,what are you doing?" my teeth chattered. Inappropriate moment!

" You'll get warm quicker this way."

He slipped into bed next to me and I hugged him. My breathing slowed down immediately. I liked the feeling of his warm chest next to me. "I was so scared today, I was worried I was dying." I whispered. He hugged me tighter and kissed me on the forehead.

" I'd never let that happen." he whispered back. He turned to look at my clock, it was past five. " Damm, Charlie will be in soon," he muttered.

" No he won't, he's on a fishing trip till Sunday."

" Hey, you hungry?" he asked.

"No, I'm fine. I still feel a little bit sick." I replied. Suddenly the phone rang, Seth went to go get it. After about ten minutes, he came back up, I sat up to listen to him. " It was just Bella checking on you."

I didn't response, I just lay back down. Seth hopped back into bed and wrapped his arm around my waist. We lay their for a while until we fell asleep.

We woke up four hours later in darkness. I got up to brush my teeth, but when I returned to my bedroom, he was gone. I walk back into the hall way and a smell of fish coming from downstairs. I walked downstairs and found Seth cooking-with his t-shirt now back on-what smelt like fish. " The one thing my dad actually taught me cook,his famous fish fry." he said as he placed two plates on the table. It smelt great. I sat opposite him and started eating, I was that hungry. It tasted as good as it smelt. We sat and talked until eleven and then we went back up to bed. Seth took his t-shirt off again because he said it would keep me warm throughout the night-yeah right!

I woke up feeling better and next to Seth who was still asleep. I took this opportunity to get dressed and showered. By the time I was changed Seth had already woke up. " were are you going? " he asked. And started following me.

"Erm, I need to ask Edward something." I insisted while walking down the stairs.

" ok, I'll meet you down their." he said while putting his t-shirt back on. We stopped before the door he looked into my eye and I kissed him. His hand wrapped around my waist and my hands around his neck. Once again, our lips were the same temperature. After that he walked out the door to la push. I ran towards the Cullen's. When I got their Jake and Bella came running out the house. Jake was so thrilled to see me when he hugged me he picked me up and spun me around.

"Thank God your better,we were all worried." Bella said. Jake placed me down.

" I actually came to speak to Edward." I insisted.

I walked through the door to find Edward stood waiting.

" Do you know like some vampires can have powers." I whispered. He nodded. " Is it possible for vampires to afflict feelings on you."

"It's likely." Edward murmured.

" So your saying that the bloodsuckers in your school made you ill." Jacob added.

"wait, theirs other vampires." Bella interupted. Edward was at her side. Suddenly Seth came through the door. " It's not them, Alice would see it and we've not done anything wrong." Edward whispered to Bella. What did he mean?
