15. Phone call

"What are you doing here?" I said excited.

" I finished my duty in Afghanistan, and I heard about the family, so I came to forks to find you." He said.

"But how did you know I was here?"

"I went to Charlie's and he told me you were here." He explained. A smile grew across my face. I was happy that Josh was back, I finally had family with me- well except from Charlie and Bella. I hugged him, I was glad he was alright. We walk back into the house but when we crossed the living room to go to the kitchen, Josh seemed to stare at something. But then it clicked, it wasn't something, it was someone and that someone was Leah.

Leah! Of all people, but at least they would both be happy. I left him to talk to her. I carried on through to the kitchen, where I found Seth, Bella, Edward and Alice.

"Who was that at the door?" Bella asked, Puzzled.

"It was Josh." I replied.

"Your big brother Josh?"

"Yeah."

"I thought vampires killed your family?" Seth asked a little confused.

"Yeah, but Josh has been fighting in Afghanistan for the past couple of years." I explained. "For a matter of fact, he's chatting your sister up right now." Suddenly we all seemed to peek round the door to have a look, like school children on the yard.

When nobody seemed to be looking Seth took me to one side, "Do you want me to give me your present now?" He asked. Was I ready for this? I couldn't open my mouth to speak, I just nodded. He grabbed my hand and we headed towards the door. Once we were outside we headed into the forest. "What's a present doing out in the forest?" I asked.

"Just trusted me." He insisted. Finally we got to the meadow, the moon lit up the meadow through the opening. Then he stopped, "now close your eyes." He whispered. So I closed my eyes. There was a short pause, then I could feel Seth's warm hand move my hair from one side of my neck to the other. Then I felt something cold and metallic, over my collar bone and round my neck, it must of been a necklace. I opened my eyes and peered down to find a delicate gold necklace with a flower pendant. The petals were made out of diamonds and in the middle was a sapphire. I loved it. I kissed him, but unfortunately we were interrupted by Jacob "Whoa, don't kiss for too long, you'll start a forest fire, with all that heat." He chuckled. We both stared at him glumly. Finally we all walk back to the house. We all resumed are place in the living room.

After about an hour I checked my phone for the time and realised it started ringing. I looked for caller ID but all it read was unknown. I headed up to the first floor to get some privacy, to take the call. " hello?" I wondered.

"Buon compleanno Amelia." An unfamiliar voice said. This voice sounded soothing but with a dark and sinister edge, as for the language, it sounded Italian. "Who is this?" I asked worryingly.

" well, lets just say I know your cousin and her family." The strange voice soothed.

"But I don't understand, why are you ringing me?"

"Well, we have something, you might want." The strange voice taunted, when a familiar voice came through the phone." Amelia, Amelia is that you, help..." The voice whimpered but was suddenly cut off, the voice almost sounded like Matty. But I couldn't be sure, I saw him die. After a short pause the unfamiliar voice spoke again," You have six months till we...dispose of him. You can come and find us in the clock tower,Volterra , ask for Aro." Then he cut me off. I stood there silent for a moment, not sure of what to make of it. I knew that I could never bring myself to tell Seth or Bella but I had to tell Josh. I had until June to get Matty- or was it a trick, but this Aro, how did he know about me. I headed downstairs acting like nothing had happened, when Sophie came over. "You enjoying your birthday?" She asked happily.

"Yeah" I lied. Sophie was my closest and oldest friend but I still kept secrets from her and this was one of those secrets. I couldn't risk telling anybody else, what if they got hurt or even killed trying to follow me to Italy. I would block my mind to the other wolves and Edward. I would tell Josh though, sooner rather than later.
