14. Birthday

The day had finally come, Saturday 15th December,my sixteenth. I woke up with a sharp knock at my bedroom door. I scrunched my eyes, not use to the light coming through my window. I sat up slowly, Charlie entered my room cautiously with a tidily wrapped present.

"happy birthday kido!" charlie said as he gave me the wrapped present.

"Thanks," I muttered.

"Well, your welcome," he shouted as he walked down the stair to go to work. I unwrapped my present to find an iPhone, Charlie had obviously had help from Sue. But their was something underneath the phone, like paper. I lifted the phone out of the box to find a drivers licence. This was more Charlie, because he new I never had a car, so it must of been some kind of joke.

Once I was dressed, I went downstairs to find a parcel on the table, addressed to me. I opened the box to find a black dress cut just before the knee, with a bit of lace design. On top of the dress was a card that read:

To Amelia,

I didn't know what to get you, so I thought I start with a dress. Hope you like it!

I'd almost forgot about my big brother; he came out of sixth form to fight in Afghanistan for the past year or so. I wonder whether he knows about mum, dad and Matty? Suddenly there was a knock at the door, I dropped the card back into the box to go answer the door. I opened the door and Jacob walked through. "happy birthday!" he said while he gave me a bear hug. " hey do you mind coming down to La Push because your present is there." he asked.

"yeah sure, I've got nowhere else to go." I replied.

Within minutes we were running down to La Push. When we reached Jake's house, we phased back. Suddenly his warm hands were sheltering my eyes. " Is this really necessary?" I questioned.

"Well, it is if you want it to be a surprise." Jake insisted.

" I hate surprises !"

Finally we came to a stop-my birthday present destination. He removed his hands to reveal the chevy but brighter than before, like it had a fresh coat of paint. I was speechless, I just reached out and hugged him.

" I'll take that as a thank you." He laughed. We drove down to Emily's and Sam's house because Emily had baked me a cake. Everyone was there: the Quileutes, my pack, Jake, Seth,even Leah! As I blew out my candles Seth whispered something to me "I'll give you my present when we're alone." The Quileute boys sniggered. What was his present? And why did he have to wait to give it to me when we're alone?

"Thanks for cake Emily," I thanked." See ya later." I shouted to everybody else. Seth walked me to my car, " I'll pick you up at six." He said.

" ok ,are you taking my car?" I asked. He nodded. He kissed me as got into my 'new' car.

When I arrived home the house was empty, Charlie must be working late.

I grabbed the dress my brother gave me and placed it out my bed. I took a shower and got changed into my new dress. I scrambled through my wardrobe trying to find shoes, but the only ones I could find to go with my dress was my black converse, I'll guess they'll just have to do. When I was done, I look at the clock an it was 5:58. I quickly grabbed my iPhone and headed downstairs. Suddenly there was a knock on the door, it was Seth. I opened the door to find him leaning against the doorframe with a suit on. But he quickly straighten up when I answered the door, his eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "You look amazing," he gulped.

"So do you," I agreed. Seth drove us to the Cullens in my Chevy. I knew we were close, when bright coloured lights bombarded my eyes in the darkness. Large, purple, twinkling lights came from the inside of the house as well as loud popular music blasting from the living room. We climb out hand in hand and were greeted by Esme and Carlisle at the door. As I walk in there, the Quileute pack and my pack were all in the living room; the furniture all pushed to the back, and in their place was two giant speakers. We walked straight to the kitchen to find Bella, Edward, Alice and Jasper. Alice's eyes lit up as soon as I walked in, she leaped forward and hugged me. For the first time I could feel her strength, crushing me with her arms. " happy birthday!" She beamed.

"Thanks" I muttered. Suddenly the sound of the door open, Rosalie and Emmett came in with Renesmee. They'd been out hunting I could smell the blood on them; I couldn't ignore it. It was like smelling cigarettes on a smoker, but these weren't smokers, these were vampires that feasted on living creatures. I picked Ness up, she was getting bigger every time I saw her. "Happy birthday!" She almost sang.

"Shall we go find Jacob?" I asked her. She nodded. I carried her to the living room, where we found Jacob. I left Ness with Jake and walk back to the kitchen but on the way there I heard a knock at the door. With no hesitation, I answered the door but there was nobody there. So I walked out of the house looking for the mystery person or thing. When something or someone grabbed me. Their hands were clamped my arms, restraining me but I managed to get out of it. I turned round ready to phase but I looked the person in the face and quickly straightened up.
