Marni was a normal girl, until the age of 10. At 10 something strange happened. She turned, not characteristic wise, but physically. She became a witch. No-one else knew, but she had been to several clubs trying to find one that was real. That’s where she was now, under guard, of course. They didn’t know she was a witch, or that with the mumbling of one word she could kill them all. Mind you, Marni didn’t know this either. Marni had mastered shape-shifting and conjuring and was currently working on levitation. She had formed a secret room under her house, where she could practice, so sometimes she would pretend to go out but really slip down there. She loved it down there. There was a red floor with black walls, and a beanbag in the corner, plus her potions and herbs for casting certain spells.

Marni walked into the club, Witches r us, and took a seat. From what she understood of magic, anyone could do basics like moving things but only people with witch in their blood could do more complex spells. That was the only way to tell if a club was real, to see if they do any conjuring or levitation.

“We shall now begin our meeting, fellow witches and warlocks” An airy voice sounded from behind a girl sat opposite Marni. The voice belonged to a tall, slim girl with pale skin and stunning green eyes. Her hair was long and had a beautiful light brown colour to it. The girl opposite Marni looked up at her and said “We have a new member Marion, her name is Marni and she is a real. We’ll have to get her into the room.” Marni couldn’t hear a word of the conversation, but as she looked around the room she felt the presence of another witch. She looked around for a tell tale sign, but couldn’t see any. Whoever it was had been hiding for a long time.

Speech interrupted Marnis’ chain of thought “Hello, and welcome to witches are us. As you can see we have a new member, please, won’t you stand and introduce yourself?” Marni stood slowly, looking at the guards around the room. She hated the way they looked at you, just waiting for you to trip up with the rules so they could punish you.

“Hi, um… I’m Marni…”

“Well it’s a pleasure to have you here, Marni. Now, could you please follow Beka here to get some spell books and things” Marni nodded to Marion and walked over to Beka, the girl who was talking to Marion earlier. They were in the kitchen when Marni realised that the witch she sensed earlier was Beka.

“Um …Beka, you’re a real witch, aren’t you.” It was a statement of fact, rather than a question. “Before you ask, I am too. I’ve never met another witch before, I mean I’ve heard about them and seen them in the street, but never talked to one! Wow!”

“Shhh!” Beka exclaimed “Yes, I’m a witch but be quiet about it! Now come on, there is a place for real witches down here.” Marni hadn’t even noticed the fact they were still moving as they talked but when she looked there was some stairs leading to a door. Beka lead the way down them and opened the door. The first thing Marni noticed was the lack of Guards, and how much nicer the place looked without them. She took a deep breath and stepped in.
