"Well, your a full witch, which means that your parents can't be normal. Which means..." Beka trailed off.
"Which means I'm adopted..." Marni finished as a tear escaped her eye, "I'm adopted, me, normal little me..." Marni was streaming with tears as her parents came in. They had been watching the conversation through the window, and when they saw her start to cry they ran straight into the room,
"Honey, why are you crying?" Her mum's voice was full of concern, but all Marni felt was anger.
"When were you going to tell me!? I'm adopted, and you never thought to tell me you're not my real parents? WHY!" Marni was crying even more now, and Beka put her arm round her for comfort. Her parents stared at her in shock, before turning to Beka with eyes of hate towards her. While her dad glared at her, Marni's mum opened her mouth to speak, "Don't bother, mum." She turned to Beka, "so, who is my real mum then, I mean, there must be someone else like me, in the world? Right?" She looked longingly at Beka, her stomach churning as she waited for an answer.
"Um... not that I know of, but my change hurt as well, and looking at you, it may be that we are related, even if it's only distant cousins." Marni stared at her wide eyed as she realized that they were not cousins but mother and daughter.
"Wait, wait, wait. What change what are you talking about, my change hurt as well? What are you going on about? What are you, crazy?" Marni and Beka had forgotten that her parents were still in the room. They had also overlooked the fact Marni was moving around like she had only bashed her head lightly, rather than in a state where she should be dead, "And how are you moving around so well, you should be dead! Will you two please tell me whats going on?" Marni's mum was looking sad as she asked the last question. Marni turned and looked her mother in the eye and said one word she had never said to her parents before;
"No."
