Laughter, voices, and a sudden bang, it’s over. That’s it, done. They had been caught, without a guard, in an un-proclaimed room. People screamed. Marni looked up from the spell book she was studying to see the riot. She frowned, before standing up.

“SHUT UP” She yelled, annoyed. Typical, the one day Bekas not here, we’re found. Placing a barrier between the witches and the guards, she acted unfazed, although inside she was manically trying to contact Beka. “What do you think you’re doing?!” She asked the guards, being as scary as she could, which. Lets face it, wasn’t very since she was only a teenager. One of the guards chuckled slightly, although was quickly shut up by one of his colleagues. A very professional looking woman walked up to the barrier.

“Due to the decree of the regulation of citizens’ act, established only last year, you are all breaking the law, and therefore must be punished. Please bear in mind, anything you now say or do may be used against of you in a court of law, and therefore, as of now, this conversation is being recorded. Now, guards, arrest them. If you are wise you will not resist.” Not wanting any casualties, Marni tried to take down the barrier, but only changed the colour.

“Who’s keeping the barrier up?” She asked, slightly annoyed that someone was obviously looking for a fight. “No-one? Huh. Weird, cause that’s not my barrier, mines blue, not purple.” A shy witch raised her hand.

“Uh, Marni, mine’s purple, but that’s not mine. Someone is manipulating the colour, which means they are using my juice, instead of their own, and I can’t take it down.” Marni nodded, great.

“Well then.” Beka voice echoed through the room, although she was no-where in sight. “I guess this is how it ends then.” The guards looked around, not showing any sign of fear, unlike the professional lady who looked about ready to run away. “Minyptuss Meauxi.” One of the guards fell over. Beka appeared beside Marni. “Who’s next?” The barrier fell, and the guards lunged instantly. Hell broke loose, spells bouncing, blood splattering. A punch came towards Marni which she dodged before throwing her own. I was clear the guard did not expect her to fight back, though soon realized her potential. Marni lashed out with her foot, but he caught it, twisting it until Marni was flipped over. She groaned before climbing to her feet and beckoning with her hands.

“Come on, if you think you can take me?” She taunted. The guard growled, before lunging, blinded by anger. He stuck out, attempting to bash Marni. Again she dodged, and performed a counter. He grabbed her arm and pulled her into a headlock. Shoving backwards, Marni head butts him, before clutching his arm and bending it until she heard a snap. The guard screamed in pain. Marni pushed his away from her before booting him in the face, knocking him unconscious. She turned to see a younger witch, the name Mellow flashed into her head, fighting three guards. Her eyes darkened and she pushed the air, knocking them to the floor. Summoning Chloe, she strode towards the guards who were trying to get up.

“Don’t even think about it.” She said before kicking each one until they stayed down.

“Thanks.” Mellow said, before smiling, slightly lopsidedly.

“No problem. Stay with me? It’s kinda dangerous” As if on que an explosion sounded to their left, knocking Mellow off balance. Catching her, Marni turned, angry the guards had come with arms. Not Fair.

Chloe appeared at Marni side, and Marni waved her off.

“Unconscious only please, Chloe” She requested. The dragon nodded her head before flapping her wings and joining the fight. “Come on then Mellow. You ready to fight some bad guys?”

“Let’s do this” She replied giving Marni a confident look.

Instantly Marni ran at a set of 5 guards, who were attacking 2 level 8 witches. Pushing the air to go faster she slammed into one of them, shoving them over. He smashed his head on the floor as he fell, bringing the man next to him down as well. Smiling slightly, she grabbed the mans’ arm, stopping him from getting up. She glanced at Mellow, who was fighting with another guard. Mellow moved left, dodging, before skipping to her right. It looks like she’s dancing. Marni realised. That’s what she’s doing! She’s dancing! Recognizing that Mellow didn’t need and help for now, Marni charged towards another guard. The thing about the human guards is that the government saw them as dispensable, meaning they sent in hundreds. On the other hand, the transformers were not, thus why they weren’t here yet. In the back of her mind, Marni knew that when they were all weakening transformers would be sent in, but she pushed the horrid thought to the back of her head and continued punching the guard in front of her. It was obvious that there were more guards now than when they first found the meeting, but Marnis’ brain didn’t actually register this. She was in a zone, throwing magic-filled punches, knocking as many guards unconscious as she could.

She vaguely detected, at one point, where Beka and Rose were, but she kept her brain focused on keeping herself and Mellow safe. She had noticed over the course of the struggle that Mellow was fine, as long as there was only one opponent, which, unfortunately, there often wasn’t. The guards had been trained to attack in packs, which unfortunately meant that they generally outnumbered the witches they were attacking.

“Mellow, could you go find Beka and tell her that there are more guards, and that the transformers will probably be here soon?” Marni hollered over the clatter.

“Sure, duck!” Mellow responded.

Marni ducked as Mellow jumped onto Marnis shoulders, before launching herself onto a guards head, kicking him to the floor ahead of landing in a roll and springing to her feet. She chuckled slightly, running of into the crowd, jumping and dodging to find Beka.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Punch, kick, block, twirl, it’s all very repetitive. Beka thought to herself as she continued to fight.

“Beka! Beka, I have a message from Marni!” She spun to see Mellow running towards her. Slightly impressed at how well she was dodging the guards, Beka nodded, knocking the heads of the 5 guards she had been fighting together.

“What’s up? Is she OK?” Beka said, suddenly realising the danger they were all in. Mellow nodded quickly, reassuring her.

“She’s fine, but wanted to warn you that the transformers will be here soon.” Beka nodded.

“Thank you, Mellow, and nice dodging skills. Use there own bodies against them; dodge to get them to punch each other. I can tell you don’t really know how to fight in the punching way.” Mellow bobbed slightly, turning. She soon vanished back into the horde of people.

Beka sighed. This really was tiring.

Rose smiled. This was her element, fist to fist combat. This was what she was trained in, this was her passion. She laughed to herself as she smashed a guard in the head with her boot which he had, at some point, stolen off of her foot.

Slipping the ankle boot back on, she tutted, Silly old man got blood on my boot! She thought to herself.

“Aww, princess, you got blood on your boot! Whatever will you do?” A snide voice remarked from behind her. Rose lifted her fist, spinning around, catching the man in the eye.

“Eww, Eye juice!” She exclaimed in an overly girly American accent, prior to smashing her other fist into his other eye. She wiped her hand on the guards uniform before jumping, making him crash into another guard who was trying to sneak up on her.

Foolish humans, they’re so intent on harming each other, they forget the basic rules of life. Never ever insult someone who is better with their fists than you.

Meanwhile, Marni and Mellow had found Chloe, and was now on her back, throwing spells as Chloe blasted the guards with fire, not enough to kill them, just get them out of action. They landed next to Beka and Marni dashed to help her. She thumped a guard around the back of the head, darting around fights, leaving Mellow with Chloe, presuming Chloe would look after her.

“Beka, left down!” She cried out. Beka looked left and down a little to see a short guard about to slice her leg with a sword. She kicked is head, spinning and turning the move into a 360◦ strike. The guards around her fell, and so Beka took a glance at Marni.

“BEHIND YOU” She screamed, one second too late. A guard had hit Marni on the head with the hilt of his sword, rendering her unconscious in a crumpled heap.

Mellow wasn’t one-hundred percent what happened next, but suddenly every enemy guard was frozen in place.

The witches slowly got up and dusted themselves off, muttering thanks.

“I suggest if you want to live, you all leave now.” Beka stated calmly. She released the spell with a wave off her hand. “Go.” She settled. The guards nodded and turned, running away.

Marni blinked twice to clear her vision.

“What just happened?” She asked quietly, her voice weakly filling the room.

“Well then Marni, it seems I have just started a war over you. Oops.”
