The rest of meeting went very smoothly, and no-one seemed to remember the Dragon incident.

Over the next few weeks Marni attended the club and snuck down into her little underground hideout a lot more to practice certain spells. She had grown to like the idea that she was more powerful than the other witches. They feared her as she grew in power. She was particularly exited about Saturday, as it was her 14th birthday, thus the day she becomes 99% witch rather than 50%. You see, when a witch turns 10 they become half witch, and if they use their powers, they become 99% witch when they turn 14. Marni had been looking forward to it since she found out. She was trying to do as much magic as she could so she would defiantly keep her powers.

Anyway, it was now Friday, and Marni had planned out the whole day. She would change at exactly midnight on Friday/Saturday. She was going to go bed really early so she could be awake for the change. It wasn’t meant to be painful so she had no fears. She wasn’t having a party on the Saturday, only a family meal out. She invited Beka and some of the other witches from the club, one of which was the young witch with long black hair and was looking quite pleased and happy with herself at the first meeting. Her name was Amy, and she was a little older than Beka (She had already been through the change). They had become close friends, not only at the club, but at school as well. At the beginning of the year Marni sat in the school library on her own reading. Now she sat there reading and chatting with Amy. Amy was level 10, which although isn’t as powerful as Marni, it was still a very good level to be at, especially at only 14 years old.

She told her parents she wanted to be up early and headed to bed, setting her alarm for 11:45 as she climbed into her bunk.

Sleep came easy, even though she was really exited.
