Faster Than A Speeding Bullet: A Batman/Superman Love Story

Chapter 7

   BRUCE'S POV

  Today, I had a meeting concerning the future of Wayne Enterprises. I tried to get up to get ready for my meeting, but I realized just how tight Kianna's arms were around my waist.
  I frowned and rested my hand on Kianna's black bonnet. Kianna's arms loosened somewhat around my waist, but I needed to wake her up.

  I shook her gently saying,"Darling?"

  Kianna slowly opened her eyes and looked around.

  I quickly made her look at me and said,"Easy, Ki, I'm right here. Lie down. I promise that I'll be right here when you wake up."

  Kianna gave me a kiss before she snuggled back into me and quickly fell asleep. I chuckled at how cute she was and held her hands as she slept.
  Alfred walked into the room and smiled at the sight before him. Alfred always wanted me to be happy... and now I could be with Kianna.

  Alfred walked over to me and smiled saying,"Master Wayne, I am very proud of you. By being here for Ms. Houston, I know that she will do the same thing for you. You know that you'll have to cancel that meeting, yes?"

  I nodded and said,"Yes, I'll inform Lucius of my change of plans. Hopefully, we'll still be on schedule. Is that all you wanted to talk to me about, Alfred?"

  Alfred nodded and kissed Kianna's forehead before he gently closed the door behind him. I smiled and let Lucius know that we'd reschedule the meeting, and then I got comfortable. 
  Kianna buried her face in my neck and wrapped more covers around us. I just let her before I found myself sleeping for once, too.

   KIANNA'S POV

  I bolted up from my sleep and slowly sat up. I...I had a really vivid nightmare, and I couldn't see anything because of the tears that kept forming in my eyes.

  Some seconds later, I felt a hand on my back.

  Bruce softly said to me,"Kia, you all right? Go back to sleep."

  I sniffed and wiped my tears with the back of my hand. Immediately, Bruce realized that I had possibly had a nightmare and pulled me on top of him. I broke down and cried into my hands.

  Bruce rubbed my back and said,"What did you see, Kia?"

  "You were killed right in front of me, and all I could do was watch. Bruce, I love you so much. Please don't leave me. You can't leave me yet."

  Bruce stroked my cheek and kissed me softly saying,"You're not going to lose me, all right? It was just a dream, and I'd never leave you to go through this on your own. You're my woman, and I can't afford to live without you. This beats for you, Kianna, and only you."

  Bruce held my hand over his heart, and I smiled at Bruce. Bruce sent me a wink. His words reassured me that everything would be all right. For now..

  Bruce pouted and asked me,"Now, where's my kiss?"

  I laughed and kissed Bruce softly. Bruce kissed me back and attempted to run his fingers through my hair, but it didn't work out for him. So, I ran my fingers through his hair instead.
  I let Bruce decide when to end the kiss, but he didn't. I frowned in the kiss because I wouldn't too long. I tried to pull away, but Bruce didn't want to pull away just yet.

  I pouted, and I did everything I could to pull away. When Bruce finally pulled away from the kiss, I rolled my eyes and hit his shoulder.

  I went to get up, but Bruce pulled me back and said,"I'm sorry, Kia. I just wanted to play around for once. Forgive me, please?"

  I thought it was the funniest thing ever watching Bruce apologizing for wanting to be playful. When Bruce scrunched up his nose, I kissed his nose twice. Bruce smiled and kissed my nose before he sat up and wrapped his arms around me.

  Bruce rested his chin on top of my head saying,"You really are amazing, aren't you? I can't believe that I waited so long to tell you how I felt about you. Kianna, if you want to say something, then I would-"

  I cut Bruce off by chuckling and saying to him,"Batman, when did you get so sensitive? These things take time, Bruce, but I get it. It's not as easy as it sounds, and I know I made it hard for you, too. I should've just stayed in Gotham, and none of this would've ever happened. Though, I really enjoy this side of you, Detective. It works."

  Bruce smirked and grabbed my waist, which caused me to scream.

  Then, Alfred walked into the room and said to Bruce,"Master Wayne, I believe that that is enough."

  I laughed, and Bruce sighed, moving away from me. I crawled over to Bruce and hugged Bruce's waist. Bruce kissed my forehead and leaned on me. I smiled up at Bruce before he smiled back at me.

  After a moment or two passed by, Bruce said,"Why don't we watch a movie together like we used to, huh? I'll even throw in popcorn and candy, just for you. I normally don't do this sort of thing, but I have a feeling that you'd enjoy it."

  I couldn't help but get excited. Bruce picked me up and sent me a wink, then he carried me all the way to the living room downstairs.
