ONE MONTH LATER...
KIANNA'S POVI only wanted a solid six hours of sleep. That's it, but I didn't get that because the doorbell was so loud. I groaned and turned onto my side, only for Bruce to pull me back into his arms.
I smiled saying,"Brucie, I gotta get the door. I'll be right back. I promise."
Bruce rolled his eyes and said,"Like you promised that you would return my car, right? Where is it, by the way?"
I chuckled nervously but smirked saying,"Wayne, don't be such a crybaby. It's just a car. How many do you have out there, anyway? I'm actually curious."
Bruce narrowed his eyes at me. I just sent him a smile and kissed his jaw. Bruce leaned into my touch, and I chose that time to let go. That door isn't going to open itself. I quickly got up and jogged down the stairs.
I smirked in victory when I heard Bruce yell,"KIANNA!!"
Once I made it to the front door, I opened the front door to see Vicki Vale. Vicki sent me a smile before I sent her a smile back.
I went to say something, but Vicki cut to the chase saying,"Is it true that you're dating Mr. Wayne?"
I could see the reporters and camera men looking at me.
I slowly nodded and said,"Yes. Why is that your business again, Ms. Vale?"
Vicki was shocked, but I knew what her endgame was. I knew about her history with Bruce.
Vicki rolled her eyes and said,"If I were you, I would watch my back, Ms. Houston. Don't worry, I'm sure Bruce will come around."
I heard that voice that I had come to fall head over heels for saying,"Don't count on that, Vicki."
Bruce walked down the stairs and stood beside me.
He intertwined his fingers with mine and kissed my hand before Vicki innocently said,"Oh!! Bruce, I was just-"
Bruce held up his hand and sternly said,"I know what you're doing, Vicki, and it won't work. Why don't you do your job and at least act like you do it every day?"
I laughed at Vicki's facial expression and high fived Bruce. Bruce chuckled and held my hand as he finished talking to the rest of the reporters.
After they left, Bruce's phone went off, and I pouted. Bruce smiled and gave me a short kiss before he jogged out of the room. I decided to call Lois and check on her since I haven't called her in forever.Lois immediately answered saying,"Yes, Ms. Houston?"
I chuckled saying,"Hey, Ms. Lane. What are you up to?"
Lois said,"I'm trying out this very fancy restaurant that just opened a few days ago with Clark. It's right down the street from the Daily Planet. Wait, I didn't tell you. Clark and I are dating."
I said,"Oh, I'm happy for you, Lois. I am. Are you two doing all right?"
Lois replied,"We're fine, Kia. We're fine. How are things going with Bruce Wayne?"
I said,"Things are great. All right, Lois, I gotta go. Love you!!"
Lois said,"Love you, too. Anyway, just don't forget to come see me. I hear that it doesn't take much for Bruce Wayne to make a woman forget everything. At least, that's what I always hear. "
I jumped when I heard Bruce say,"Why did I just hear my name? Beautiful, who are you talking to?"
I pushed Bruce's face to the side and said goodbye to Lois before I hung up. I lied back on the sofa and looked up at Bruce. Bruce leaned down and kissed me slowly. I kissed back.
I smiled in the kiss before I slowly let go saying,"I love you, Bruce."
Bruce smiled back and kissed my hand saying,"I love you, too. Care to join me?"
Bruce held out his hand, and I took it. Bruce smirked and just led me down to the Batcave.
As Bruce led me down the stairs, I noticed that the Batmobile had been moved to a completely different spot.I, also, noticed a few changes to the Batmobile's exterior, including the machine guns that were mounted on the very top of the Batmobile. Wait, machine guns?
I think I knew why we suddenly needed to change the Batmobile of all vehicles, but I hoped that I was wrong.
Bruce asked me,"What are you thinking about, Kianna?"
I worriedly said,"You're not about to fight Superman, are you? Bruce, we need to-"
Bruce cut me off, and I was a little irritated and upset that he cut me off.
Bruce noticed what he did and said,"I'm sorry, Ki, but I have to do this. If there's a chance that we can stop this man, I'm going to take it. He brought the war with him... and now's my chance to get rid of him. To stop this for good."
Bruce went to leave, but I grabbed his arm and said,"But Bruce, Superman's not our enemy. Sure, he may be a little skeptical of you, too, but you two should be working together. This just doesn't feel right. Bruce, listen to me. This isn't going to make things better. It isn't."
Bruce leaned in and kissed me before he pulled away saying,"I'm sorry, honey, but I have to. You don't understand."
Bruce then sighed saying,"Why don't you head on up and get some sleep? I'll come join you in a minute."
I just nodded, and then Bruce walked over to the Batcomputer. I sighed because I knew what Bruce was doing. Bruce thought that I didn't know, but I had a pretty good idea of what was going on inside his head right now. That was what scared me, though.
