   KIANNA'S POV

Right now, I was on my way to Metropolis. I know, I had no business trying to be nosy, but I had to find out what the connection was between Gotham and Metropolis.
Why did this connection bother Clark and Bruce so much? I loved both of them dearly, yet they were turning into men I didn't even recognize anymore.

I parked my car at the Daily Planet and went through the security gates.

Once I made it through, Perry looked at me weirdly, but he recovered with a friendly smile saying,"Kianna? I didn't think you'd ever come back here. How about-"

I chuckled but politely cut Perry off by saying to him,"Perry, I'm flattered, but I'm not here to help with an article. I'm here about what happened in the desert. Do you know anything about that?"

Perry seemed to get irritated, but he pointed towards the back saying,"What is up with everyone? Lois can help you with that. Nice to see you again, Kianna. If you'll excuse me."

I chuckled at Perry's attitude, but I understood where he was coming from. I headed towards the back but accidentally bumped shoulders with someone. I quickly apologized, yet I looked up to meet those familiar blue eyes.

  I said,"Clark? Kent, what's wrong?"

Clark fixed his glasses saying,"Nothing, Darling, I'm fine. You shouldn't worry about me. I...I have to go take care of something. I'll see you later, okay?"

Clark rested his hand on my shoulder, and I went to take his hand, but he had already hurried off.

Now, I really wanted to know what was going on between Clark and Bruce.

Lois spotted me and ran up to me. She hugged me tightly. I laughed, but I hugged her back.

She pulled away and said,"How are you, my beautiful, brown sister? Sorry, that was a little weird, wasn't it?"

I chuckled and waved it off.

Getting right to the point, I asked her,"Lois, what's going on around here? Why is everyone so upset?"

Lois grabbed my hand and led me towards the door saying,"Come on, I guess I have a lot of explaining to do. You'll understand once you hear this."

I really hoped that I would finally understand. All of this was starting to give me a mini headache.

   AT LOIS' APARTMENT...

After Lois finished catching me up, I just put my hand over my forehead. I could see why Bruce was so upset, but then again, Clark couldn't have known that he'd cause so much damage or casualties. How could he know?
In Bruce's eyes, he was just trying to seek justice for all the lives that were lost when Superman fought Zod in Metropolis. But Clark, he was just trying to push on and still do some good. I groaned because my job was gonna be much harder than I thought it was going to be.

Lois laughed at my facial expression and said to me,"Don't worry, Ki, we'll get through this. Together... we can bring them back to their senses. It just takes time. How's Bruce doing?"

I could tell it made Lois uncomfortable because, technically, she wasn't supposed to know about Bruce being Batman. I may have told her when she was explaining everything to me. I may have.

Lois rested her hand on my leg and asked me,"Honey, what's the matter?"

Lois sent me a look of concern.

I put my hand over Lois' hand and said to her,"I just came back to Metropolis to check on you and Clark. It's not like I have a house in Metropolis that I haven't been in in months that I still pay for, though. Anyway, are you sure that you're all right, Lo?"

Lois put her hand on my face and said,"I should be asking you that exact same question, Kianna, but I'm sure that I'm all right. Thank you."

I nodded and felt a huge breeze rush past me. It got quiet before Clark walked into the room. He gave Lois a kiss and kissed my forehead before he leaned on the counter.

Lois cleared her throat and asked Clark,"Where have you been, Clark?"

Clark sighed, and I could tell that all of this was taking a heavy toll on him. I could just tell.

Clark looked to the side and said,"Out. Lately, things have been a little crazy, Lo, and I've been thinking about whether I'm really making a difference in this world. I started Superman because I thought that I could be a symbol; be something greater for mankind. Now, I'm not so sure anymore."

Clark was sounding worse than Bruce, but Clark had every reason to sound the way he did. He was the one who was really taking the heat for everything, and it was killing me to just sit back and see Clark like this. I got up and walked over to Clark. I looked at Lois for permission to have a minute alone with Clark.

Lois nodded, and then she made her way to her bedroom. I turned to Clark, and his eyes slowly met mine.

I took a deep breath and said,"All right, Man of Steel, care if I educate you for a minute?"

Clark shook his head, and I sat down while he remained standing. My phone went off, and I looked down to see that I had received a text message from Bruce.
I glanced at my phone, but I thought that this was more important. Maybe I could calm Clark down. Maybe I could fix this by just talking to him.

I was gonna figure this out, whether it ended up being for good or for worse.
