Really hope you guys are enjoying so far. The story is going to get better as we go.

Tolen POV

I woke up the next morning exhausted. Both mentally and physically. I couldn't believe what happened the day before. It happened so quickly, and I felt so useless sitting there in his powered down suit. I forced myself out of bed and got ready for the day. Afterwards I went into the living room where the table was set up. Lyna was in the kitchen cooking breakfast again.

"Hey Lyna." I said as I took a seat at the table.

"Oh hey Tolen, didn't see you come in." She said while flipping a waffle.

"Yeah, where is everyone? They'd usually be up by now." I asked.

"They're all really bummed out about Carl, especially Kana. The poor girl won't get out of bed. I was hoping this breakfast would lighten the mood a little."

"Well it smells great." I grinned.

"It's blueberry waffles and sausage."

"My favorite!" I accidentally yelled.

"Haha, yeah. I don't know much about the rest of these guys, but I know what you like. Here ya go." She said as she slid my plate on the table.

"Thanks!" I said happily.

"You're welcome." She said, then ruffled my hair and went back into the kitchen.

Shortly afterwards, Lynx walked in happily.

"Did I smell food?" He smiled brightly.

"Um... Yeah." I answered.

"What's wrong Tolen?" He said with his head turned sideways.

"Nothing, I just thought you might have been a little sad about Carl."

"Oh I was, but then I got over it. People come and go you know?" He said, then took a seat on the other side of the big table.

"Yeah I guess, it's just that you've know Carl longer than most of us."

"Yeah well when you kill your own parents you learn to get over things quickly."

"Oh... Yeah, forgot about that." I admitted.

"Anyway Lyna, I hope there are no hard feelings between us. Rae pretty much mouth-raped me."

Lyna looked up from her pan. "I believe it. Don't worry Lynx, I won't hurt you."  She winked.

We all shared a laugh when Kai walked in from the entrance.

"Lex and the others want to speak with us." He said bluntly.

"Well they're gonna have to wait until we're done eating." Lyna said.

"It isn't wise to keep them waiting." He said as he took a seat.

"Guess how much I care? Trick question. I don't." Lyna giggled.

"I'm hungry anyway. Yesterday was frustrating." Kai said.

I was surprised to see him talking so much, but it made me happy. Carl's suggestion really helped up understand each other a little more... Well except for Rae. He was still an illusive mystery.
