Chapter 18

After the movie Dannie and I went to our room much to the boys' protests we convinced them to let us stay in our room together tonight.

I picked out a lose grey t-shirt and just stripped to my spanks. We sat in bed just talking about what our life has turned out to be like since  we moved here. Dannie started talking about Blake every once in a while but it was mostly about school and the new friends we've made. Soon we fell into a peaceful sleep.

The next morning I heard the most deafening scream from Dannie's side of the room and I hopped up and looked around. The only thing that I saw was an empty bed and an open window. I ran to the window and looked out. I saw only an open backyard of grass and trees.

'Maybe I just imagined the scream and Dannie is downstairs or something' I thought walking carefully down the stairs. No one else is bustling about so I guess it was just in my head. I went to the kitchen but saw no one. Then the living room. Empty. The dining room. No. I started to panic and I decided to go to Blake's room incase she went in there. I knocked on the door and I heard a sleepy voice say come in. I opened the door and looked around. I saw Blake sitting up in bed with his eyes half open and his hair a mess but no Dannie. I started breathing really fast and Blake stood up.

"Ashley what's wrong?" He said walking slowly towards me.

I grabbed my head and ran to my bedroom. I heard Blake's footsteps following me and I grabbed my phone. I dialed Dannie's number and heard it start ringing. Then from under Dannie's bed I heard Dannie's ring tone playing. I quickly walked over and grabbed it. it was cracked and the case was scratched like it was from claws.

"Ashley. What is happening right now?" Blake said coming up behind me.

"What's going on in here?" Cade asked as he walked in with sweats and no shirt.

"Dannie is missing." I said panicky.

"ok, ok," Cade said walking over. I could feel myself shrinking further into my mind as my wolf came forward. My eyes turned the bright blue of my wolf's and I could feel the heat taking over my body. "Ash calm down," Cade put his hands up as he got closer and closer.

I leapt to the side, completely transforming into the wolf. I bowed my head and felt a tear drop down from my eyes. I have failed at keeping my best friend safe. How can I keep an entire pack safe?

'I'm here to help. That's how Ash' Cade's voice came into my head.

I shook my head fast and closed the bond. I looked up and ran to the window. I jumped and burst through. The sharp glass struck at my fur and nipped my skin but I couldn't feel it. I was now in mid-air and I felt free. My paws hit the ground and I bolted to the tree line. I ran faster then I ever have and it felt amazing. I slowed to a stop when I started to smell something. I lifted my snout into the air and sniffed a couple times. It stunk bad and I decided to follow it. It lead to a building just outside the pack territory. It was hidden well in the trees and I walked slowly up to it. When I reached the metal wall I heard voices. I leaned to look in the small window and saw a man. He was talking to someone and I leaned in further to see. What I saw was Dannie sitting with her back to a pole and her head hunched down.

"Look at me when I speak to you!" The man yelled. Dannie slowly lifted her head and I saw some blood on her face and soaked into her clothes.

"Dannie," I whispered.

"You will take the mixture and bring me the girl. you hear me?" He said leaning in close. I need a plan. A carefully executed pl- then he slapped her when she didn't respond.  I growled and leapt through the window. Wow. two windows in under five minutes. Both heads shot to me and the mans eyes widened.

I ran towards the man and leapt onto him. He fell back and I started snapping at his throat. He held his arms out to try to keep me away but I bit his cheek and tasted the blood in my mouth. I then felt a small pain in my side and let go.

The man pushed me off him and I started to see spots. I swayed a little and blacked out.

When I woke up I was in the same room but tied to a different pole in front of Dannie. I looked down and saw I was human again.

"Ashley," Dannie croaked with her eyes barely open. "What have you done?"

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I mean why did you get yourself captured?" She said looking at me.

"I couldn't find you when I woke up and I sniffed you out," I shrugged.

The door slammed open and my head whipped to it. Two people came in with a syringe and two cages on wheels.

"Boss said you have to take this," One of them grinned at Dannie. "before we hit the road," The other one came towards me and untied my hands. I tried to jump up but he had already shoved my forcefully into the cage.

I looked over and saw the other guy shove the syringe into Dannie's arm. She fell limp and I was wheeled out of the room before I saw the rest.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Good question. To some place your lovers will never find you," The boy grinned.

"Who are you?" I looked at him with disgust.

"My name is Alex. Your Ash. My buddy is Jack and he's taking care of your friend Dannie. now we have the greetings out of the way can you shut up?" He said rather rudely.

He opened a door and the light hit my eyes. I squinted and was pushed to a big truck. I cant get in there and I knew it. I threw my body against the side of the cage and I went flying to the side. The door bent and it was big enough for me to crawl out.

Alex came over and tried to grab me. I swung my arm back and slapped him in the face. He grabbed his cheek and I ran back to the entrance. I felt hands on my waist pull me back and into the air. I landed in the dirt and looked back. Alex was walking towards me and I shakily stood back up.

He punched me once in the face and I flung my leg up to kick his stomach. He grabbed my foot and flipped me backwards. I put my foot back out and landed on it. He ran towards me and I swung to punch him in the face. He caught my fist and tried flipping me over. I flung my legs into the air to do a aerial and twisted his arm. He went flying into the air and I grabbed him and pushed him onto his back by the throat.

"Your a good fighter," He said breathlessly. "But not good enough," He said and grabbed my hand that was on his neck and twisted it.

I ended up on my back and he pulled a syringe from his pocket and inserted it into my shoulder. I went limp and blacked out yet again for the second time today.

CADE'S POV

Its been three hours since Ash left and she still hasn't come back yet. I called down my best trackers and we are all working out grids for everyone to search.

She would've contacted me by now but since she hasn't I started to vision the worst. whereas some people see the glass half full I see the glass as either over flowing or something to throw at people. I always have but this is something that has to happen.

I have to have a Luna for the pack or we die. Its just the way it goes. Some trackers are out trying to catch her scent but so far we haven't heard anything. I will find you Ash. If its the last thing I do.
