chapter 21

CADE'S POV

After the pain subsided we kept looking for the girls. Blake helped me walk the entire way because I was in so much pain. Blake felt something earlier that wasn't coming from him ad I didn't know what it was because the only thing that he would be able to feel from Dannie was her first shift until they were mated and we all know she isn't a werewolf.

We passed it by though and kept going. Blake and I are now in a car and I'm driving though I'm in pain and a complete wreck.

The troops are in the car in front of us and behind us so we are rolling in style and in pain.

We were speeding most of the time but we made it there in four hours instead of six.

I honestly don't really know where the hell they are but once we reached a town called Little Rock I hopped out of the car and tried to catch their scents.

The trackers got out and we caught something. It was the same stench that we found mixed with the girls' at in the forest. I growled and saw the source. I limped over to them which kinda killed the badass look I was going for and grabbed the leader by he throat.

"Where's Ashley and Dannie?" I growled. in his face. My troops kept the other ones back and let me deal with him.

"I don't know who your talking about," The guy tried to play dumb.

"I'm not stupid. Where's my mate?" I said intimidatingly... I hoped.

"I'm sorry but you must be mistaken. I don't know an Ashley or Dannie," He said.

"I can smell them on you," I said angrily squeezing his throat harder. He gasped for air and answered.

"They escaped and came here," He said and I glared at him.

"How'd they escape?" I asked. I didn't believe him.

"They jumped out the back of the truck and walked here," He said Between gasps of air.

I released him and he fell to the floor. "If I find out that you lied to me your gonna wish you were never born a guy," I sneered in his face. His gang of rouge misfits darted down the quiet street.

I picked up Ashley's toxic scent and followed it to a small diner down the road. I entered and saw no Ahs or Dannie.

"Excuse me has two girls came in here recently?" I asked the lady at the counter.

"Um, yeah about four hours ago," She said.

"Ok thanks," I smiled and we walked out.

I heard voices behind the building and went to investigate.

ASHLEY'S POV (three hours earlier) 

Even though every single bone in me was telling me to go fight I knew I couldn't in this condition. I flattened my back against the wall when I heard voices past. After a few minutes of silence I sighed.

"Your in the wrong place huh?" I gruff voice said from the shadows. A figure emerged and I saw it was a guy about my age.

"Who are you?" I asked proudly.

"The question is who are you?" He smirked and crossed his arms.

"My name I Alexandrea and this is my sister Anabelle," I lied. I was not giving this creepy stranger my name.

"Excellent names. very creative but you and I both know your lying," He smirked again. My eyes widened and I stepped back a little. "What are your real names?" He asked stepping forward and leaning on the side wall.

I huffed and backed down. "I'm Ashley and this is Danielle," I motioned to my silent best friend.

"So... Never been a wolf before?" He looked at her. Her eyes widened and shot to me.

"What are you talking about?" She asked quietly, looking back at him.

"Don't play dumb. I know your a wolf and I know your a wolf and you don't normally transform do you?" He asked smiling evilly at her.

"I'm not a werewolf," She replied.

"So how'd you change?" He asked his eye brows furrowing together.

" Rouges gave me a mixture and inserted it into my blood," She said cooley.

"How'd they make it?" He pushed off the wall.

"Am I supposed to know?" She said not moving or flinching.

As they talked about it I took a minute to study this guys features. He had a chiseled jaw and dark, navy blue eyes. He had a lip piercing and his jet black hair was swooped up in the front over his hood to his jacket that was rolled up to his elbows.

"Where exactly are we in Arkansas. Like what town." Dannie asked.

"Little Rock," He said

"So what did you say your name was?" I asked when it was silent.

"Dallas," He replied. "I'm a rouge," He said.

"How did you become a rouge?" I asked.

"My uncle killed my father and I escaped. So I'm not technically a rouge I guess," He replied.

"There are guys here that captured us from our home and we broke out and jumped out of the truck we were in," I told him "They are looking for us right now,"

"Didn't that hurt?" He said, his eyes wide. "Jumping out of the moving truck I mean."

"Like a bitch," I said calmly. He smiled and I did too. I think I like this strange weirdo.

ASHLEY'S POV (present time)

Dallas, Dannie and I talked for a long time and soon we became really good friends. I offered him to came stay with us and he took the offer.

We were leaning on the building in the shadows where we first saw Dallas so incase Michael and his crew did come back here they couldn't find us.

I heard footsteps and we quieted down and pressed our backs against the wall. I held my breath and waited for whoever it was to step into the alley.

What I saw made my whole pain stricken body jump for joy. My mate emerged from the side of the building and I smiled.

I leapt from the shadows, frightening Cade and jumped on him. The pain I was feeling was still there but was dimmed when we touched. I wrapped my arms and legs around him and he wrapped his arms around my waist.

I saw Blake come out from the side of the building and Dannie ran to him. I am so happy now that we are all back together but I am so tired even though I slept for two whole days.

"Are you ready to go home?" Cade whispered in my ear.

"Yeah but first..." I hopped down and went to grab Dallas. I took his arm and led him to Cade. "This is Dallas. His uncle killed his father, the Alpha and he escaped," I told him. "I said he could come with us,"

Cade sighed and nodded. "Ok. But no funny business," He said and Dallas smiled.

"Thank you..." Dallas trailed off.

"Cade," He said and Dallas nodded.

"Ok guys. Lets go home," Cade said turning around and I saw literally the whole troop march to just three cars. How'd they all fit? You know what, never mind... I'm ready to get home.
