Crazy Eyes was fading fast
She did not know if he would last
All her efforts may be in vain
Mumblin' to himself insane.
She found the spot
She knew she would
But something was off
"This is not good."
She slid off her horse.
She pushed the door.
A trail of blood
Leading across the floor.
"Oh Great Spirit NO!"
she fell to the ground
where Chief DamageGoods'
body was found.
Shot through the chest
A hole blown wide.
"Guess I picked the wrong
place to hide."
She knew the wound
Was way too deep
All she could do
Is hold him and weep.
He touched her face
"Don't cry for me,
I go to a better place,
Ruechari."
"But I can't let you go
You're the only Father
I know."
Her heart broke in two.
"Don't fret my child
more waits for you."
He pulled her close
Whispered in her ear
All that she ever
Needed to hear.
She surfaced from the mound
A new purpose she had found
The tribe had been scattered
Someone had destroyed all that had mattered.
The cure for Crazy Eyes was now gone too
It would look like she'd be burying not
One but two.
His lifeless body hung on Ali's horse
Nothin' but an empty corpse.
She fell down to her knees and cried
For the day all that she loved had died.
