Valentin watched as tens of thousands of bats flew into a nearby cave.

"Rather cliche, Liz darling."

Liz laughed.

"My little pets will provide a wonderful diversion if they attack in mass. What they lack in size, they more than make up for in sheer quantity."

She looked at the hundreds of werewolves gathered not far from them.

"They worry me."

Valentin kissed her cheek.

"My darling. You have your pets, I have mine."

"But yours should be on leashes," she smiled.

She looked at the huge dust cloud to the west.

"A battle rages."

Valentin nodded.

"But Reaper rides alone."

He could sense the wolves surrounding Reaper.

"And our pets are bringing him right to us."

"Then perhaps we should move."

Valentin nodded.

He looked around.

"We have our army."

Liz nodded.

"To his demise," Liz snapped, with finality.

Reaper kept riding, as the wolves neared.

"Not today," he yelled, as he shot at the lead wolf.

The first shot had no effect, but the second bullet found its mark, sinking into the wolves neck.

The wolf fell hard to its side, tumbling several times, before laying silent in the dust.

Those running with it stopped, suddenly and surrounded it.

Reaper laughed as he rode past the gathered wolves, not realizing that the wolf he had shot, held his destiny.

He now felt, with confidence, that he was free and clear, on his path to Plainsway.

He turned suddenly, as howls filled the air behind him.
