To him who is in fear
everything rustles.

"Frisk, stop fighting me. We could do this together you know? Reset. Make it how it always been. Then, we'll end it. We'll end it all. Destroy this world like I've tried so many times before. And once we destroy it, we would have given every single rotten thing what they deserve. Come on, Frisk. You can't fight me off forever. One day, you're going to slip up... hehehe, and I'll get to kill Sans all over again."
My fingernails dig into my scalp, the pain helping me focus. The grass brushes against my arm as I squirm around. My lungs working overtime as if trying to feed two hearts.
"Never." I breathe, giving on last attempt to push Chara's attack on my soul away. My Determination swelling up at images of G, his bony fingers against my forehead, my hand laced through his. No. I can't let Flowey take G away. I can't let Chara take over me.
My body gasps as I heave all on my Determination at Chara. He's pushed into the back of my mind, far away. He's silence, and asleep.
For one second I lay on the ground, my fingers slowly unfurling from the roots of my hair. I stand up, my lungs burning and my head pounding. I force myself to move, to stand up. Then I take a step, then another, right out of the throne room. Abandoning the ruin flowers and the backpack. Soon, my legs are pumping as I jog through the gray city.
I was lucky that Chara was still tired from when he last took over. My mind reels over the events that just transpired. Flowey was waiting for us. How did he know we were down here? How did he find us?
I almost trip as I turn into the Core, realization dawning on me. My hands are still dirty. Chara... what did he do to Flowey? Did Chara make Flowey attack us? Or does Flowey honestly want to hurt us?
The image of G, walking stiffly, unnaturally, with the faintest sight of a yellow flower hiding behind his right eye socket, burns into the back of my eyelids. The green vines intertwining between his bones.
What is Flowey going to do to G? He can't hurt him. He won't, I won't let him.
I jog a little faster, trying to get through the dark maze.
My mind begins to flood into a panic. My heartbeat increasing as my brain goes into overdrive.
I just got G. I finally told him I loved him. I can't lose him. I can't.
My soul begins to ache in fear. The terror strangling my throat as I force air through it. No. No.
My Determination flares up within me. Chasing away the fear, the pain, and the thought of losing G. I'll find him and Flowey. I get both of them back. I will.
I get through the Cora fairy quickly. I'm not sure how much longer I fought off Chara when Flowey took G, but I should be close to him. I didn't find him in the Cora, so he must be somewhere in Hotland.
I find the exit and step out onto orange ground. The heat reminding me of a dazed sickness. I shake the unpleasant memory off, and continue onward.
Finally, I found them. On a stretch of road right above the boiling magma. G's body is on the very edge, looking down at the lava. I shout his name, and his skull turns to look over at me.
I nearly choke, finding Flowey sticking out of one eye socket. The expression on G's face that of pain. His entire body tense with green vines. I can see leaves brushing the underside of his clothes. I found a vine yanked through his mouth, like a bridal. Gold magic is spilling out over his jaw. His movements are jerky, forced as Flowey forces him to face me.
Flowey smiles in pure delight at the sight of me.
"Wow, you fought of Chara? You really are Determined. Oh well, you'll just have to watch your new boyfriend die." He giggles.
Then he turns, and takes a step towards the lava, and I scream out G's name.
