You saw me see you

see the hope of what we could be.

I saw you see me see

the eyes that set me free.

Frisk

The burning sensation has left my body, and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

"G." I murmur, trying to get my eyelids to open. My limbs actually able to move. The tiredness that seemed to engulf me before I fell asleep, gone. There's still a sharp pounding in my skull, but even that has quieten down.

"G?" I call louder, finally getting my eyes to open.

Gray enters my vision, and as I shift my arm to prop me up, I notice the gray ground underneath my palms. I turn my torso, and stare up at the gray bricked house a few feet away from me.

My lips part in confusion. New home? How did I get here?

I turn back around, shifting to bring my knees up to my chest.

"G?" I call out, ready to stand up when I catch sight of my hands.

Dirty. Caked in mud, and blades of grass. I stare, my mind racing through the possibilities of the situation.

My heart starts racing in my chest. I bolt upright, holding my dirty hands in front of me like a display.

"G!" I scream.

Chara. Oh no. What did he do? Why am I in New Home? Where's G? Did Chara do something to G?

My heart stops, my blood running cold as that thought wraps around my mind.

NO. My Determination pushes away the fear, knowing only that I will find him. I turn, pushing away the frightening thoughts, and begin racing back to the Core. He has to be somewhere, and I will find him.

My legs pound against the ground. Quickly making my way past gray buildings. Getting to the end of that stretch of road, I turn. Still running as I hit straight on into a body.

My momentum makes us fall forward. Landing onto the person's chest, I quickly get my hands and prop myself up before looking into gold irises.

"G!" I nearly scream.

"Frisk?" He breathes out, his expression wary as he takes in my face. He looks up from the ground, his eye sockets flashing dangerously, still unsure if it's really me.

"Are you okay? What happened? Where were you? When I woke up, you were gone!" I spit out the questions quickly, as if he'll disappear before I finish speaking. I move off of him, noting the situation and trying not to blush. I fall back onto my heels as G kneels.

"Sorry, I um... shouldn't have run into you like that." I stammer, wondering if he can see my rosy cheeks as I look away. Why is he being so quiet? I nervously run a hand through my hair, before remembering the dirt and chastising myself for forgetting. Then my mind thinks on to why I have dirt on my hands in the first place. What could Chara have—

G's arms surround me, pulling me right against his rib cage. He nestles his skull against the crook of my shoulder, and lets out a breath that warms my neck. Goosebumps erupt on my skin, and then his smell hits me. Smoke and mint. Sharp, real, but kind underneath it all. It takes me a moment, so caught off guard by his hug, before I actually wrap my around his shoulders. Our bodies pressing against each other as we balance on our knees in this gray hallway.
