The judge smashed his hammer against the podium talking in an assertive voice "my decision is final, the court is now dismissed."

I wrapped my arms around Jaike's waist "it's all over."

*****FOUR HOURS EARLIER******
I stood in our bedroom mirror dressed in fitted pants and a royal purple blouse that had ruffles before the buttons. The butterfly's that once occupied my stomach are now dragons trying to escape.

My heart beating so fast I thought it was going to burn a hole in my chest as I took the steps to leave the house with Jaike in tow my feet became heavy. I turned to Jaike "I don't think I can face her and a judge, he's our son."

Jaike nodded his head placing a kiss upon my forehead "we will get through this together Cam."

I nodded my head "has your mum called I know he is alright staying there but I am worried about him."

Jaike pulled me into his arms quickly "he will be alright but we need to go now or we will be late."

After the lost weight of my life, we were finally seated in the courtroom waiting for the date to take its course. The judge entered the room requesting that we raised before sitting back down.

Once Martha, my sons' biological mother took the stand the fake tears streamed down her face "I didn't mean to leave him at that park. I mean I did but I was going to come back for him. He is my son I was always going to come back I just thought he would be safe there than at home with his father. Jamie's father isn't a nice guy." Martha then went on to describe him as brutal and a monster. "I always wanted better for my little boy and I believe I could provide that for him now!" Martha exclaimed batting had eyelashes at the judge.

I held onto Jaike's hand tightly keeping my opinions in my head. Finally, Jaike was called up to the stand to talk. He cleared his throat composing himself "Cameron and I were walking in the park on a fairly hot day when Cameron heard the cries of a baby. We stay there at the park for a few hours before deciding that the child, Parker's mother wasn't coming back today. We took him to the hospital to get him checked out and then through the department of child protection Cameron and I took him home. Six months later no one had come forward and claimed our son so Cameron and I adopted him making him our duty of care."

As Jaike walked away from the podium I could see a few tears out of the corner of his eyes. The judge finally called me up to the stand I placed my hands on my stomach gently rubbing "when you Martha first turned up at our doorstep I had Parker in my arms. Once you had left and I was cuddling him on the couch he asked if I was getting rid of him because I was having a new baby. A baby that would then replace him. I told this little-scared boy that nothing can take my little boy away from me. You may have given birth to this beautiful little boy but Jaike and I have been there. He is no longer your little boy Martha because he is mine and Jaike's. We raised him. We woke up in those restless nights. We changed his nappies and fed him. He brought him what we could afford. He is just as much our son as your blood."

I took a deep breath turning to the judge "he is our son we have been there for three years."

Tears were flowing out of my eyes as I walked back down to Jaike quietly sobbing into his arms. The judge smashed his hammer against the podium "court adjourned for a fifteen-minute recess."

Again the hammer was smashed against the podium dismissing us. Jaike and I wondered out of the courtroom. Jaike pulled me into his arms squeezing me tightly "everything will be alright."

I nodded my head "I know to stay positive Jaike, thank you for being my rock this past month."

Jaike brought his warm lips to my trembling ones whispering against them "thank you for being my rock every other day baby."

********PRESENT TIME*********
Jaike and I once again stood in front of the judge waiting for him to give his verdict. "In the case of Jaime/Parker and who should have care of him, I am in favour of him remaining in the care of his parents Jaike and Cameron!" The judge smashed his hammer against the podium talking in an assertive voice "my decision is final, the court is now dismissed."

I wrapped my arms around Jaike's waist "it's all over our son is stay in his home."

Jaike pulled me into his arms gently crying on my shoulder "thank god our boy is coming home."

I passionately kissed his tear covered lips mumbling over them "I love you."

Jaike replied, "I love you more."
