"Aren't you tired of being fake?"

"Hunh?" I turned around seeing Nick behind me. It was after school, and I was walking with Hannah home.

He repeated, "Aren't you tired of being a fake?"

I gave him an angelic smile and said, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Nick growled getting up in my face, "You know what I am talking about!"

Hannah called nervously, "Kai."

I looked at her by my side and so did Nick. I knew at that moment that he wasn't going to do anything around her. I said to her, "It's fine." I had to keep her here, or something bad might happen.

Nick looked at me then back at her. He knew what I was doing. He showled, "Don't hide behind your little sister." He growled a name under his breath. He grabbed my collar. He growled at her, "You better run and get help, if you don't want him to die."

Okay, my plan backfired. Hannah looked frightened. She was ready to run.

I said to her, "Don't run. It's fine."

"Not after what you did to Krysta," Nick growled. "What if your sister knew what you did? Do you think she would ever trust her big brother ever again?"

I gasped. I can't let him tarnish my reputation, let alone pummel my face in. I put my fake angelic smile on and say trying to play it off, "I don't understand what you are talking about. You must got the wrong guy."

Nick shook me as if the truth would come right out of me. He screamed, "Stop lying all the time! She isn't herself anymore because of you!"

Hannah stuttered, "What is he talking about, Kai?" She looked between Nick and I nervously.

Nick looked at Hannah as if he just noticed she was there despite him acknowledging her earlier. Nick said near the breaking point, "Your so innocent and trusting brother h-."

I pushed him back before he could finish what he was saying. I struggled pushing him down on his back. I hissed, "You aren't telling her anything!"

He punch up into my nose.

I covered my face and grimaced. I was not used to pain at all. I had to stop for a second because it hurt so much. Because of that, Nick got me on my back and started punching me. I put my forearms up to block my face.

He keeps on punching and punching. As he did, he screamed with each punch.

"Why did you hurt her?"

"I hate you!"

"You jerk!"

"She trusted you!"

"Move your arms out the way!"

"You're nothing but a fake!"

Eventually, he stopped. He knew he was going nowhere but bruising my arms. He got up and looked around.

A few students that were walking home were surrounding us. Some were filming us on their phones.

Nick looked down at me and growled, "Don't ever go near Krysta ever again. He turned his back on me and walked away. As he walked away, the small crowd did the same.

I sat up and saw Hannah looking frightened. I stood up. My back was sore from the pavement. I stepped towards her to comfort her, but she took a step back.

What? Why did she do that? I asked, "What's wrong?"

Hannah asked confused and distraught, "What did you do to Krysta? I thought you always defended her."

I gave her a smile and said, "Everything's fine." I put my hand to her head to pat it.

She took another step back. She gasped under her breath. She said quietly, "You're a liar."

No. She couldn't know that. She shouldn't know that. I never lied to her! What she said hurt. It actually hurted. Maybe it was because it was from my own sister.

I replied, "No! I never lied to you."

Hannah folded her arms and said sternly, "You never lied to me, right? What did you do to, Krysta?"

I couldn't answer her. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out.

She turned her back to me. Before walking off, she said, "Don't talk to me until you're done being a liar." She walked off leaving me speechless.
