After a few minutes, I got a text from Nick. It said, "I'll see you Monday! I hope you get well."

I had no idea what Krysta told Nick, but I guess she told him not to come. I went home, and continued the rest of my weekend.

I made it through my weekend with no one contacting me. I had no idea how to feel about that.

It was Monday morning. I walked to the bus stop with Hannah as usual. When I got there, I didn't see Krysta.

When I finally got into the school, I went to my locker.

"Hey, Kai!" It wad my ex, Tiara. Beside her was a girl. She said, "This is Melody."

I smiled and greeted, "Hi." I groaned inwardly. I looked around to find an escape.

I saw Nick, and he saw me. Dang it. I'm a little nervous about what he may know.

He came up to me and said to them, "Excuse me, ladies."

Tiara said with attitude, "Excuse me! We were talking to him."

Nick sneered, "Haven't you caused enough problems?"

I sighed, "Tiara, I don't want to talk to you right now." I started to fake a sadness. "How can I just go from one girl to another so quick."

"Oh," Tiara said embarrassingly. "Sorry. We'll talk later." Tiara and Melody walked away together and quite quickly.

Once they were gone, Nick asked, "Have you seen Krysta?"

I answered , "No."

Nick said, "Krysta said you got sick. Are you doing better?"

I nodded. I didn't want him to figure out what I've done.

Nick face showed a pained expression. He said, "I haven't seen her. She wouldn't even pick up her phone. Do you have any idea why?" He was looking at me desperately for an answer.

I looked away from him and said, "No.

Nick seemed to look suspicious. He said, "Remember, I know when you are lying. What happened?" He moved into my view.

I mumbled, "Nothing."

Nick scowled, "Something happened, Kai. It's something your not telling me." Soluddenly, his phone rung a short tone. He took his phone out. He looked at it. He then said, "What did you do?"

I lied, "I did nothing."

Nick grabbed my collar and slammed me into the lockers behind. He sneered, "What did you do to her? Paul" his teammate) "just told me that he last saw you with her, and she ran away crying."

We got a few students' attentions.

I didn't even know someone even saw us! It was like he was getting more and more from me as he ask more questions. I didn't know what to do.

I decided to revert back to my innocent act. I said, "What would I do something to her? You know I care about her."

He scowled, "You didn't just care about her! I knew that much!"

I gasped. I knew that he knew a lot about me. I knew that what he was thinking was right. But I'm not going to let him get me.

In result, I leaned in towards him and whispered, "So what if I did?" I smirked, "No one is going to blame me."

A furious look developed on Nick's face. He put a fist up to my face ready to punch me.

I said with a fake catious warning tone, "Oh no! Better watch out! You are the best basketball player. Don't want to be suspended while everyone tries to keep you on so hard."

Nick hesitated, then put his fist down. He let go of me and punched the locker beside my head. He hissed, "Why did you hurt her?"

I gave the pure/rare answer of my heart. I said, "Because I wanted her."

He snarled at my response, then he stomped away. He didn't want to use his uncontrolled anger now, so it was in my favor.

I guess I was safe... for now.
