Adventure Till The End

The Nightmare.

It was "night" in both Hereafters and all were sleeping soundly, all but our two elves.

Coincidentally, both elves were in the same dream wearing beautiful clothes and standing on a field of flowers under the bright blue sky. Concorde called out to Illoaide, and she turned around to meet him. "I passed," Concorde said, "We can be together again!" Amazed at this, Illoaide ran to Concorde, and he ran to her.

Suddenly, the sky turned purple, and a chasm between the both of them opened up, separating them. Two pairs of hands reached out to grab them as they tried to run towards each other, pulling them further apart. They were shrieking each other's names whilst struggling to break free.

Suddenly, Concorde broke free from his grasp and tried to run towards Illoaide but he noticed the wide chasm, and he began to jump...

... And fall down, down, down into the bottomless pit. Illoaide wept at this, and both of them heard the resounding laughter of the Mistress.

They had failed.

....

Both of them woke up, screaming, "No!" After a few deep breaths, they both went back to sleep.
