5 years flew by since Concorde and Illoaide vanquished the Mistress. Things were going back to normal, all landscapes have been reformed, all ruins were raised, and all life was back to its usual self, especially in the Market.
But this day was especially favorable for Concorde, and he woke up excited as a young boy. He had been on countless adventures with Illoaide ever since they defeated the Mistress and within those adventures they had their ups and downs (and a quarrel which nearly broke up the two, but that was put to rest easily), but most of all, a stronger, more loving, more supportive, and more firm relationship.
His parents were dressed in the finest business wear, while the young elf lad, now of 25, was dressed in a cyan suit and tie. "Hey lover boy!" Vai'Ramon called from below, "This transaction is urgent, or else!"
"Alright, mom!" Concorde called out as he gave one last look at the picture of him and Illoaide spelunking the Glittering Caverns. Then, he went down.
With all preparations complete, the young elfin groom-to-be and his family went out the door of the OL mansion.
...
Concorde was always known for being late, but this time, he was especially early. It was a temperate sunny noon when the Olmallotor-Larethians arrived at the Market Plaza.
"We're early," Corellon teased, "and the bride hasn't arrived yet!"
"Ay Papa!" Concorde chuckled, "You just have to wait."
"And I thought I should be the one waiting for you!" the voice of a girl cut in. Concorde turned around and saw the lovely drider demigoddess that was soon going to be his bride. Her white hair was especially silky smooth and glossy today, her body and legs were a bit slimmer (except for her abdomen, still large and bulbous), and her face, especially her emerald eyes, was prettier than ever. She was in her finest blouse while her parents were in fine business outfit.
"Lovely day we're having," Lazmondias said.
"What could be lovelier?" Corellon Larethian replied.
"I could have been bowing and scraping at you, because you're a god and all," Lazmondias replied, "but we seem to grow closer to each other, thanks to these two."
The elf God laughed a little, and he replied, "Indeed it has, and I believe our son has a little something for your daughter. Concorde?"
The young elf stepped forth and said, "Illoaide?"
"Mm?" she asked.
"Remember the money we loaned from you last week?"
"Why? What about it?"
"Well, I'm going to return it to you. Five diamonds, as promised," Concorde replied, handing her a white envelope.
"Why thank you!" the drider replied, opening the envelope, "Let's see. One, two, three, four---"
Suddenly, Illoaide gasped at what she saw. She took it out and examined it in the air. The object was a ring of Holyore with small diamond bands decorating it. On top of it was a slightly larger diamond which glistened in the sun. The more she looked at it, the more her eyes watered, and sooner or later, tears began streaming down her face.
She averted her gaze from the ring and saw the young elf now on bended knee, his fair innocent face and sapphire eyes displaying affection and anticipation.
Meanwhile, everyone in the Market Plaza looked at them.
It was a full minute before Concorde spoke again.
"Illie," he said affectionately, "Will you do me the honor of being my wife, my lover, and my forever partner?"
The drider demigoddess herself was stunned and awed at the same time. In fact, she was speechless at the words.
Meanwhile, a dwarf in the crowd shouted, "C'mon young lasseh, say yes!"
"Yeah!" a cecaelia added, "He's a desperate man. Say yes!"
More and more voices carried the same message, and soon, everyone in the market was asking her to say yes.
Finally, both dad's silenced the crowd, and once again, Concorde spoke, "Please?"
Already crying tears of joy, Illoaide replied with a loud "Yes!". As Concorde stood, she wrapped all her arms and legs around him while saying yes. Around them, everyone was cheering and hugging each other.
